Chapter 18

Aph's POV

I've been spending more time at Aaron's place over the past two months, his mom is really nice and so is his sister who I've met a few times now. Also I'm staying with Katelyn from now on, her parents said more the merrier when she's asked so now, we share a room at her place. It's a lot better than that cruddy hotel place they sent me to.

"Hey Aph, whatcha waiting for? The game season starts today!"

"Be right there Kate,"

We all decided to go watch the first game, Meteli Tigers VS the Phoenix Alliance. Aaron and Laurance have been training hard over the past few months and I'm really hoping it pays off for them. The first game was on the school campus so being seniors we were allowed the day off to go and watch it, not that it would stop me.

"Aph I'm saving you a seat between me and Garroth!"

"Thanks,"

I quickly grab myself a bottle of water and head to find my friends in the stands. Yes, I acknowledge them as my friends, Aaron gets along with them pretty well now too. Ever since the Balto incident thing have been different for him at school. He hasn't been in a fight since.

"Hey Aphmau,"

"Hi Garroth,"

I look over to see Travis wrap his arm around Katelyn and give her a kiss. That gets me thinking about that kiss with Aaron some time back. I guess it's kinda awkward but we just never mention it. He later told me that him and Shu were gonna meet up and he was really excited when she said she was free this afternoon after the big game.

"GO PHOENIX ALLIANCE!"

By halftime of the game Meteli was winning by 1 goal. I never really watched football back home, but its actually really exciting. Garroth and Katelyn on either side of me were being just as loud, if not louder than me. We all really wanted our team to win.

"YOU GOT THIS PDH!"

"GO CRUSH EM TIGERS!"

"PHOENIX FOR THE WIN!"

"TIGERS ARE SUPERIOR!"

Friendly banter between the two teams continues throughout the game, it's almost time and the scores are even. Laurence makes his way up the field, ball gliding just in front of him Tigers on each side of him. Knowing he won't make the goal he passes to Aaron who shoots it straight into the goal just in time for the final whistle to blow.

We all cheer out in joy. Aaron and Laurence make their way over to us after the crowds disperse and their team mates all head of to shower and change. I hug both of them at the same time, it's hard because I'm short but I manage.

"I'll see you guys around, I'm meeting someone in a bit,"

"Later Aaron, oh and after party at my place if you're interested"

"Thanks Laurence,"

He heads off, I'm hoping things go ok with him and Shu.
