A/N: Wow, hey awesome nerds I'm back! Exams are over and my final year of high school has begun. First off, tysm for waiting and giving me so many reads (6.1k) I am super duper grateful for all of you. Second, I plan to end at Chapter 45 with added epilogue and I'm gonna give you the summary of the sequel too and maybe a new book title too! Enjoy the final chapters nerds 🥰
Aph's POV
Katelyn's having her kid right now. Wow, I can't imagine what that feels like, she must be super stressed and I've heard it hurts quite a bit. Unfortunately, Aaron and I have to wait until after school to go see her plus she'll want time just her and Travis and their little one. No one's been told the name or gender yet so we've all waiting in anticipation to find out.
"Aph, come on we have werewolf class."
"Oh right lets go then,"
On our way to class light flickers in my eyes, when I inspect it closer I notice there's broken glass littered all across the hallway. Werewolves never jump in though, they always go out. I go to beckon Aaron over when a rock comes flying towards my head.
"What the...."
Aaron mustn't have noticed I lagged behind because he's gone from the hallway, leaving me alone. I stand confused when I hear another object landing hard beside me, this time it's a brick. Backing away from the window quietly my phone starts vibrating in my pocket. Travis is calling.... Why would he be calling me right now, he should be with Eric on his way to the hospital or better yet, there already.
"What."
"Geez sorry, its just Eric isn't here yet and he hasn't picked up, have you heard from them?"
"No,"
One more rock flies in through the broken window before smacking into one of the lockers against the wall with a deafening crash. I tell Travis to go back inside and wait in admin before someone grabs me from behind causing me to scream.
"Aph calm down its me,"
"GARROTH! What the heck are you doing?"
"I heard noises here and saw this, what's going on?"
I don't have time to respond before the school lockdown alarm blares through the speaker system, Garroth grabs my arm and pulls me into the nearest bathroom, locking the door behind him. He shushes me when I try to protest and nudges me into one of the shower stalls.
"Garroth, what's this?"
"A lockdown, I'm not sure why though?"
We wait in silence while the alarm bells echo throughout the bathroom. I go to call Travis again when he never hung up in the first place, as quiet as I can I tell him to shift his phone to silent and wait for the all clear. I'm worried that the fact he isn't at the hospital yet is really sending her stress through the roof.
"Aphmau I need to get to Katelyn." His voice is strained and he's near on panicking.
"Katelyn needs you alive Travis, now more than ever."
"Guys stop arguing, Travis where are you even?"
Garroth butts in, of course, but it's a good thing he does because it stops us both from almost yelling at each other. My phone vibrates in my hand with a message from Aaron asking where I am. The boys softly discuss what's going on and what the plan is from there when we hear shouting from other line. I quickly end the call to avoid giving his position away and reply to Aaron.
Aaron: Where r u?
Aphmau: In the girls bathroom with G
Aar: y
Aph: y do u think
Aar: srry I was worried bout u
Aph: stay quiet, stay down
Aar: ok
Aph: somethng is rlly wrong
Aph: ???
Aph: u in class?
Aph: aaron lycan where r u
He doesn't respond after that, the teacher must've taken his phone cause you're not supposed to text in class time. Dammit. Garroth and I sit in the bathroom for I don't know how long when the alarm finally stops and we get the all clear to leave. Travis is calling.... Again? He would be on the next bus to the city of one her brothers would get him.
"What now?"
"Kaiden came to get me, just tell me if you hear from Eric please."
"Sure,"
Garroth cautiously open the stall door and unlocks the main door, pulling it open its quiet, this hallways has been blocked from both ends. The two of us walk past the shattered glass, past the barriers and into the cafeteria. Our group is gathered at our usual table excluding Travis and Katelyn for obvious reasons, when they see us Aaron jumps up and comes over to us.
"Thank Irene you're both ok."
"We are."
"Hey, you guys come look at this, she's so cute!"
Peering over Lucinda's shoulder, I see it's a picture of an exhausted Katelyn holding a little pink bundle in her arms, she has bright green eyes and a small tuft of light blue hair on her head. We definitely needed something positive after the day we've all had.
