Aph's POV

Finally I could go home and sleep in a proper bed tonight. Aaron had come in earlier saying that Eric would pick me up then take me back to their place. After these crazy couple of weeks I really needed some rest and relaxation. Not to mention I had to call my mom about.... dad. She may or may not already know but if she doesn't, she needs to hear it from me.

"Aphmau you ready?"

Eric's voice interrupted my thoughts, she was standing in the doorway with Kacey, Katelyn's younger brother. He was in sophomore year right now. While the older two were off doing their own things, but still came home to visit their family.

"Yeah I'm ready."

Eric signs the discharge papers cause I'm not 18 just yet and he's my legal guardian right now. After all the paperwork is done we walk out to the car, jump in and drive home.

"Aphmau?"

"Yes?"

"There's a few things that have changed and Katelyn is very sensitive about it,"

"Okay,"

"Well after what happened with you Elizabeth left and none of us have heard from her at all."

"No letter?"

"There was one, telling us she was fine and the police didn't need to be involved."

What kind of a mother does that, leaves her husband and kids, one close to giving birth, without any reason at all. I can't imagine how I would feel if my mom did that to me except that I'd be left alone, no sibling, no dad, nothing. She must feel awful, Eric and Kasey too.

"Yeah, Katelyn is finding it harder but she still has me and dad and Kaiden and Kyle too."

"She sure does Kace, look out for her when she gets back to school right?

"We all will, me, Aph, Travis and all her friends."

I've always wondered what it'd be like to have a sibling. Cause a bunch of people I know have them. Like how Aaron has a sister. What if one day she was technically my sister too. Wouldn't that be something. I bet it'd be the closest I ever to got to having an actual sibling, I mean Katelyn treats me like a sister but its different cause I'd be married which would make her an in-law.

"Kacey?

"Yeah Aph,"

"What's it like having siblings?"

"Its awesome, even being the youngest. There was always someone to play with."

"Woah, so you were never alone?"

"Never ever"

If I ever have kids, I'm definitely having more than one, I may not of had a sibling but I don't want any of my potential kids growing up and going through the same stuff I did. Its been horrible, I'm actually part of a family here even if not by blood.
