Chapter 34

Aaron's POV

Melissa's 21st birthday, it is going to be all out and Mel will have the time of her life. When she'd come to me asking for help I thought something had gone terribly wrong, when in fact it was just her being a drama queen over something so small. Aph even came over a couple hours ago to help with the decoration and getting everything ready outside

Someone was distracting her right now so we could get this all prepped, but myself and Aph had no clue what she was out doing or who she was with. As long as Mel stayed out, all was going smoothly.

"Aaron come help please."

"What the potato can't reach something?"

I still call her potato, of course she knows I'm joking, I'd never insult her with the intention of being mean. We both playfully come at one another and joke around a lot. I've never felt more at home when she'd around. I'm hate that I have to say goodbye soon but I have a feeling it won't be forever.

I walk outside to see Aph in a tree, clearly having tied a string of lights up there however the ladder is laying in the grass, trapping her in the tree. I burst out laughing.

"No funny, just get me down!"

"Fine, Aphmau jump."

"What no that's stupid,"

We bicker light-heartedly for some time before I manage to convince her to jump, we both need to shower and get dressed for the party withing the next 30 minutes because she spent so much time telling me to get the ladder, half in cute angry Spanish half English. I know Melissa knows about the party so she went outfit shopping with Aphmau who is using her bathroom to get ready while I'm in mine because Mel insists it be a surprise what she's wearing.

"Aaron about 10 minutes till your sister gets back."

"Okay mom."

I finished up then met my parents and the arriving guests downstairs, Katelyn and Travis sat this one out because well Katelyn was tired out a lot recently. She'd insisted Aph and Travis come to the party but Travis was too stubborn to leave her alone. My sister is a very understanding person so she is cool with them not coming. But Aph eventually agreed and her and Mel spent an afternoon shopping and now I would finally see what she was wearing. It was gorgeous it suited her very well.

The party was heaps of fun, Mel loved it and was very surprised when Lucinda showed up. I was too. I had spent most of the night with my friends but none of them suggested she was going to come. Things were a little awkward at first but they both ended up snuggled by the fire quietly chatting about stuff. Guess Mel's drunk confession was beneficial to them.

"So Lucinda and Melissa huh, do you think they still like each other?"

"Look at them Garroth, I know it."

"Pretty good gift for a 21st huh?"

"It sure is,"

Garroth and I had become closer after Laurence got a little salty about him and Cadenza going to the dance and now dating. I don't get what the problem is, I don't think its purely about Cad and Garroth cause he's been acting off for a while, and after his actions at the dance we all told him that he was way out of line.
