Exchange For a Year

Chapter 12

Aaron's POV

She's got to have been really good in order to beat those two, I've seen them train but never played a game with them before. They have some serious skill and to beat them, maybe she should join the team if there are any vacant spots.

We sit and chat for the rest of lunch, this isn't too bad, sitting at a table with others but I honestly prefer it being me and Aph in the music room, most people give strange looks when they pass us. Then there's werewolf class, I don't understand why they would put a human exchange student in that class but they did.

"Aaron, we go class now,"

"Oh right coming Aph,"

On our way to class this blondish boy runs past and bumps into Aph, knocking her to the floor. I wrap my arms around her so she doesn't hit the ground hard and somehow, she ends up on top of me.

"Leif! Come back here and say sorry you just bumped into this poor chick! LEIF!"

The black-haired girl briefly stops and bolts after this 'Leif' guy. I'm not sure who he is but that was pretty damn rude if you ask me.

I look back at Aph and her eyes meet with mine, they're a beautiful caramel colour. Her eyes have a sparkle about them, not from the hallway lights but something else.

"Uh Aaron,"

We're getting stared at by a multitude of people.

"Sorry Aph I uh are you ok?"

"Mhm,"

A couple of boys walk over and help Aph get up from on top of me, allowing me to stand myself. I felt comfortable with her on my chest, I felt happy? That rarely happens around people but then again, she is my first real friend. I mean besides Shu but she's only online and I'll never meet her.

"Hey uh miss sorry about Leif and Ava, they tend to do that a lot,"

"Gracias"

"Um so I'm Rhys and my friends are Asch, Noi and Pierce,"

He points to each of them as he says their names. At least some people have the decency to be nice around here. These guys are new I suppose I've never seen them around unless they're not seniors.

"Aphmau and friend Aaron,"

"Nice to meet you but we should probably go find those two before they kill each other,"

They all leave in the one direction. I guess maybe they are from another year because seniors have class in a few minutes. I think back to when Aph landed on my chest and her eyes, I can't get them out of my head they were beautiful.

"Aph you sure you're ok?"

"Yes,"

"Ok cool just wanted to make sure."

My face has a slight pink tinge to it, no Aaron, we're only just friends and even if that was to happen, she leaves in December so it would never work, or could it?
