Chapter 16

~CAMS POV~
The whole way to McDonald's was pretty silent except for us singing for a little bit to Backstreet Boys' "I Want it That Way".

I parked the car and me and Eric both got out before walking into the fast food restaurant. We took a small look around and went to get in line

We ordered our food and then I also ordered what the guys at home wanted. I pulled out my wallet to pay for the food and spotted Eric staring at me from the corner of my eye.

I hand the woman working the cash register my card and turn to face Eric. I raise my eyebrows at him and tilt my head. He blushed softly and looked down to the floor.

I hummed a soft "hm.." and turned back to the lady who proceeded to hand me my card. I slide it into my wallet and flip it closed before stuffing it into my front jeans pocket.

I walk with Eric over to an empty table that looked moderately clean and had a seat across from each other. I folded my hands in my lap and leaned back in my seats, looking at Eric fondly.

He flicked a glance towards me and smiled. I did the same and we burst into a giggling mess, catching attention of a couple sitting a few booths away.

"Today has been pretty good, ya know?" I say, catching myself off guard. "It's been a while since you've said something like that Cam, and it makes me happy you feel that way because I do as well.." Eric said with a wide smile.

I hear a man call out our order number that was written on the receipt and I stand to go grab the food. "I'll help." Eric says before standing up from his seat as well and walking with me towards the cashiers counter.

They hand us 4 bags filled with our food. "Have a wonderful day!" The middle-age looking man says to us and Eric happily says "You too!"

I chuckle and roll my eyes before we walk towards the exit of the restaurant and out to the car.

Eric opens up the door to the back seat for me so I could put the bags in the floor board. I swing the door shut behind me and make my way up to the drivers door.

I pull my keys from my back pocket as I reach for the handle but I only felt the fabric of my jeans. I furrowed my eyebrows and looked down at my pockets. "What the hell..."

I continue to pat down my pockets for my keys but realized they were gone. I was set into a state of panic and began to frantically look around the cars seats and floor. Eric looked at me and frowned.

"Cameron, what's wrong? Are you alright?" He asked, concern filling his voice. I look towards him and swallow. "I just...uhm can't find my keys. Maybe I dropped them inside, hang on, I'll be right back." I say and he nods.

I leave the car and start towards the restaurants doors.

~ERICS POV~
I turned around in my seat to watch Cameron walk into McDonald's before flipping back around to face the windshield. A deep sigh left me and I sit back in my seat.

I look down at the cup holder and see Cameron's phone sitting there, face down. I bite my lip and shake my head.

I shouldn't..
It wouldn't be right..

I think to myself. I knew it wasn't right to open and go through his phone but I really wanted to know what he was huffing about earlier.

Even though he said it was nothing...
My curiosity is killing me. Maybe just a peek wouldn't hurt..

I quickly turned my head left and right to make sure he wasn't coming and I picked up the phone. I clicked the on-button that showed his lock screen.

It was a picture of me and him in front of a Christmas tree. I was wearing a sweater with the word "Hip" on it and my arms rested at my sides. I was also wearing my helmet.

Cameron stood beside me, an arm around my shoulders and the other hand rested on my forearm. He had a blank expression on his face.

The picture made me smile as I remembered the exact moment that photo was taken. I blinked a couple times and sighed.

I heard a sudden knock on the drivers side window and I jumped up in my seat. My head cut to the window to see that it was only Cameron.

I quickly threw the phone down into the cup holder, hoping he didn't see me with it and I mentally cursed at myself for taking too much time staring at that damn picture.

Cam was holding up the keys in his hand, a wide, goofy, grin on his face. His was mouthing the words "I found em!" and pointing towards the keys with his other hand.

I chuckle and relax slightly as he opens the door and slides into the drivers seat. He jungles the keys around slightly and does a little "raising the roof" dance. He laughs and puts the key into the ignition.

"So where'd you find them?" I ask, trying to break the silence. He turns to me and rests his elbow on the arm rest. "You'd never believe me if I told you!" He exclaimed, eyes wide.

I tilt my head slightly and he huffs. "They were in the bathroom. I think they fell out of my pocket when I went to take a piss." He said with a hint of sarcasm, which caused me to laugh out loud.

"Oh nice, yep I believe that! Heh." I say, smiling widely.

~~Time Skip to when they arrive home~~
~CAMS POV~
When we arrived home with the food, the guys nearly toppled me and Eric over trying to get theirs.

I set the bags down on the kitchen counter and quickly backed away from the feral animals. When the guys all got their food, they went into the living room and had seats on the couches, love seats, and bean bags to eat their early dinner.

John, Jaren, and Toby all took the couch for themselves. Mason and Jay shared a love seat and that left Matt with a beanbag chair.

When me and Eric got our food, we just grabbed stools from the dining table and brought it to the living room floor to sit on.

"Thanks mates for getting food, really appreciate it!" Mason exclaimed with a mouthful of nuggets.

"Oh just thank Cam, he's the one that paid, I just tagged along." Eric said and shot a glance at me, making me blush.

They all said their Thank you'd to me.
Except Matt.

He sat in silence, throwing dirty glares at me every once in a while. I tried my hardest to ignore them but it was difficult to do so when it was almost every 20 seconds.

Wonder what his fucking deal is...
