This takes place at the start of their fifth year. The reader is a Gryffindor prefect. Also, there are a lot of curses here. Please don't read if you're uncomfortable with curses.
W/y : Whatever Year
S/n : Sister's/Brother's/Cousin's NameY/n's POV
I've known for a while now. Remus Lupin is different. He's smart, but he hangs out with a bunch of idiot that call themselves Marauders. He's kind, but he does nothing when his friends bully that poor slytherin kid in our year. He disappears once a month and comes back with scars.
He's a werewolf I think, but do all werewolves make people's hearts flutter?
This boy has caught my attention since third year, and I've been watching him from afar—or as a better term, observing him. Maybe, it'll change. After all, we're only starting our fifth year.
I sighed as I saw King's Cross. I looked at my sis/bro/cousin in the front seat next to my mom/dad/guardian who was driving us.
"You're in w/y, right? Was fifth year any fun?" I asked.
She/he/they laughed saying, "Depends on the people you're with, but I suppose you're better off. I didn't make prefect."
I nodded awkwardly. She/he/they needs to sort herself/himself out. It was quiet until the we got off.
"Have fun kids. Take care," my mom/dad/guardian said.
"Ok bye. Love you," we replied hugging her/him/them.
I got my trolley and walked towards the barrier.
"You go first," I laughed insincerely.
S/n nodded and looked towards me.
"I'll be with some friends, and I suppose you'll be off at the prefect's carriage," she/he/they said smiling at me.
She/he/they looked around before going through.
I was scared. I did this four years before, but I couldn't help it. I took a deep breath, made sure no one was watching, and finally, I went through.
Th train arrived a bit after, and I went straight to the prefect's carriage. There was no one else there yet, so I peeked outside to make sure I was right which I was, and I saw the one and only Remus Lupin there.
Everything was fine between us, and we were kind of friends. One thing set us apart though. I always told on his friends, but he liked to stand up for them. We never got into any fights, but I would never try to befriend any of them.
"Hello Lupin," I greeted with fake smile I made sure he could see through. I really wish I could call him by his first name, but we'd only spoken in class. He probably didn't care after hours though.
"Hi," he replied.
"So you're a prefect?" I asked.
"Yup," he said popping the p.
"I suppose Professor Dumbledore wants you to take control of your friends," I laughed awkwardly.
"Yeah actually. It's just I don't think I'm enough to stop them. Thank Merlin you always came around with the teachers," he said.
An awkward air surrounded us, so we just stayed silent until the rest came. We were to patrol carriages one through nine and lead the first years to the commons when the opening ceremony finished.
