Adam didn’t say anything, so Chantelle shook her head and looked towards.
“So what were you doing Midnight?” She asked.
“Since when is it anything to do with you.” Midnight shot back.
“Since we saw you come in through the old gate. What were you doing in the forest?” Chantelle said.
Midnight sat still.
“Why were you doing to the forest? Answer the question!” Amy shouted. She tugged at Midnight’s collar and Midnight stood up and got hold of Amy’s collar.
“I suggest you let go before I do something I’ll regret.” Midnight threatened.
“Oh really, what you going to do?” Amy said. She did not just say that, now she’s asking for it. Midnight let goes of Amy and turns around.
“That’s what I thought.” Amy said. Then Midnight whipped around and sucker punched her in the jaw. Again. I heard a crack.
“Midnight!” Chantelle shouted.
“Sorry but she asked for it.” Midnight said. She was clenching her fists so hard that her knuckles are white. She stormed out of the hall.
“We need to get her to the infirmary.” Dan said picking up Amy in a ‘bridal’ position and taking her away. Blood spattered from her jaw.
Later, after the x-rays were developed, we found that Midnight had broken Amy’s jaw in three places.
“Wow, she can pack a punch.” Dan joked looking once more at the x-rays that were hung up on the wall. If looks could kill, Dan would be dead after that comment.
“Well don’t worry. With this medicine, your jaw will be healed in two weeks.” Chantelle reassured her, passing a bottle of pills.
“What kind of medicine is that?” I asked.
“It’s a newly developed medicine, made specifically to help bones heal faster.” Chantelle explained.
“So what are we going to do about Adam?” Bella changed the subject.
“We lock him up in the dungeons.”Chantelle said matter-of-factly. Amy nodded her head in agreement.
Midnight walked in and started looking at the x-rays. I looked down at her hands; there was dried blood on her knuckles. Questions raced through my head: Was it her blood? , was it something else’s? , What has she been doing? , Why is she here?. Then one last question raced to my head, has she killed someone? She was definitely capable of it. Wait...what am I thinking? Midnight’s my friend; she would never do anything like that. Well, that’s not true; she broke Amy’s jaw in three places. How did she manage that?
“Three places. Wow, even I didn’t think it would be that many places.” Midnight smirked.
Amy stuck up her middle finger.
“I love you too.”Midnight said sarcastically. Amy grabbed a mini whiteboard and pen and wrote ‘Bitch’ on it.
“You can’t say I didn’t warn you.” Midnight replied.
“In all fairness, you didn’t have to break her jaw.” Chantelle butted in.
“How did you even manage to do that?” Dan asked. Midnight fell silent and left before answering.
“That was weird.” Bella said.
“So do we continue?” Dan asked.
“What do you mean?” Chantelle asked.
“Do we continue to run the school?” Dan said.
“I guess we keep going for a little while.” Chantelle answered.
“Great, I get to spend even more time in that boring kitchen.” Bella whined.
“Don’t after today; I don’t think it’s going to be very peaceful around here.” Chantelle smirked.
