Chapter 12

"I-I read it in a book." he stuttered.

"Really, you read a book on a current new vampire strategy being used in warfare," Midnight said sarcastically.

"Yes, yes I did." he affirmed.

"I don't believe you." Amy butted in.

"Tell us the truth." Midnight insisted.

"I can't tell you." Adam said.

"Yes you can." Midnight said edged closer to him.

"No I can't."Adam shouted.

"Yes you can." Amy said.

"No I can't." he shouted.

"We need to get going before it gets dark. Sarah you're coming with us. We need someone like you for back up," Midnight said sternly.

"Let's go," I replied.

We headed into the woods. Midnight stomped ahead faster than I could walk. Adam was just managing to level next to her. He slowed her down and started to talk to her.

"Listen, I want to tell you but-" he started.

"But you can't. Whatever of course you can't, I mean there probably a long list of people who said you can't tell Me." she shouted.

"Midnight I tell you in my own time but right now is not the time." he said.

"Fine." Midnight negotiated.

"We are nearly there." he said.

"Aaaaahhhhhhhhhhh." I screamed. I tripped up on something. I look up and there are Midnight and Adam.

"Are you ok?" Midnight asked and she pulled me up.

"I think so but what did I trip up on?" I replied.

I looked back Adam was standing there looking at something. I walk over. It's a person. I look at the face; it was Mrs Plato. Adam held her wrist.

"She's dead. She was killed fairly recent probably last night." he confirmed; he examined the neck wounds.

We moved on quickly. We needed to get there fast before they kill another teacher. I see a sheet of material that must be the camp.

"Sarah, stay here if we need you we'll call." he said. Then they disappeared behind the sheet. I peeked through and watched them as they entered a tent on the right. I pulled my head away from the sheet and waited for the call. I heard a scream it was Midnight's scream. I ran through the sheets and two people grabbed hold of me. They walked towards a tent and went in. Inside I saw Midnight and Adam also being held back. They were standing in front of a man didn't look very old around 18 but probably not because he was a vampire. He seemed to be in charge.

"It's nice you dropped by little brother and I see you brought some food with you, or are these little friends. If you are looking for the teachers of that murderous school, then I'm afraid that you're too late. They are already dead. So if that is all, my friends here will show you out. Goodbye little brother." he said.

I saw a fist come towards me and everything went black.

My vision was blurred and the light burned my eyes. Slowly I shakily hauled myself off the ground. I looked across to find Midnight and Adam. We were outside the schools grounds. Midnight got up and started power walking towards the hall.

"Midnight," Adam called after her. He started chasing after her. I started chasing after them. Midnight shoved the doors to the hall open and zoomed down the corridor. Adam struggled to keep up.

"It's not what it seems, Midnight." Adam shouted. Midnight stopped and turned around.

"You're a vampire for Christ's sake, what else is there to see." Midnight shouted, she was louder than him, and then turned around and kept walking.

"You lied to my face for a month." Midnight shouted as she walked down the corridor.

"Technically you never asked." he shouted back.

"I didn't think I'd have to ask if you were a different species."

"Well you were supposed to."

"It all makes sense now: the security tape and knowing the strategy."

"How do you know about the video?"

"Does it matter because apparently the truth doesn't?"

She started to run down the steps into the basement. She met a cement wall and had nowhere to go. He finally catches up with her and so do I.

"You finished ranting so we can actually talk," he said

"No we can't" she shouted and she slapped him around the face.

"Look, you can't tell them. Not right now at least." He said.

"Why not?" she said.

"It's a personal." He replied.

Then Amy and the others thumped down the stairs to the basement.

"In god's name, what the hell is happening down here? What happened?" Bella asked. None of us answered.

"Nothing happened. They captured us, told us that all the teachers were dead, knocked us out and brought us back here." Midnight explained.

And they thumped back upstairs.
