The trill of her smartphone stirred Adriana from her deep sleep, the massive hangover headache taking over her senses. "Holy shi-"The second vibration of her cellphone prompted her to rise from her place on the bed. She regarded her lack of clothing and the soreness between her legs and could think of one thing.
The third warble of her smartphone drove her to pick up the phone and answer the call. "Hello?" The few short breaths alerted Adriana but when Beth spoke, a sense of relief washed over her.
"Hey, can you come over?" Beth's voice was shaky, but Adriana didn't notice due to the throbbing ache in her head. "Um-- yeah. In a few." She pushed herself from the bed, her legs slightly unsteady. "Now. I mean now." Adriana now sensed the alarm in Beth's voice and made a move to get dressed.
"Okay, Okay. I'm on my way."

"Hey, I brought Donuts!" Adriana called out into the house, not discerning the lack of home security on the front door.
Tossing her purse onto the couch, Adriana wandered into the kitchen. Looking up from her phone, she now felt tense energy in the room and noted the three unfamiliar men in the room. Though one seemed familiar, she couldn't put her finger on it.
"Donuts for me?" The husky voice caused a sense of nostalgia to wash over her, but the fear suppressed the feeling as she was now aware of the gun tucked in his waistband. One of the men motioned to the seat where three of her best friends sat and took the box of Krispy Kreme donuts from her hand. She raced over to the girls, sending a quick scowl to each of them.
She observed the bird tattoo on the man's neck and images shot through her memory but she couldn't seem to piece them together. He strode over to the sink, leaning over to inspect the wall.
"Yo, this backsplash is dope. Hey, what's it made out of, marble?" Adrianna's brows twisted in confusion, taking a seat on the armrest.
"Yo, you ever get any problems with staining back here? Like if you cooking a big pot of spaghetti sauce or something like that?"
Adriana glanced at Beth expectantly, hitting her foot against hers. Beth now conscious of her surroundings shook her head, her eyes shooting between the man and Adriana. "No, I don't think so."
"No?" He chuckled, eyeing the marble once again. "We didn't know you owned the store," Ruby articulated, clearly unfamiliar with the concept of danger. He chuckled once again, now focusing his attention on the ladies.
"I look like some kind of grocery store manager to you? Or, like, rotary club or something?" He stalked toward the women, instilling a slight fear. Adriana shook her head, catching his attention. The corner of his lips lifted slightly in a knowing smirk before he began to walk away again.
