"Coming!"
Adriana placed the hood over her head, slipping on her sneakers. The soft pounding of the door sounded again through her empty home, causing her to roll her eyes. "Holy shit, I'm coming!" Adriana shouted once more. Then came the heavier knocking pounding, a slight creak heard from the door.
She quickly laced up her sneakers, grabbing her phone. Placing her hand on the doorknob, she was unaware of who was really behind the door before twisting it open. "Holy hell you're heavy-handed-"
Before she could shut the door, the tattooed man placed a gun to her abdomen. "Long time no see, sweetheart.

"What do you need." Adriana spat, resting her palms against the island. Her eyes darted to the man on the right who held the gun that was trained to her head. Her one-night-stand let out a little chuckle, sensing the front she was putting up.
His eyes flicked over to his goon, signaling for the man to put the gun down. Adriana let out a breath, glancing at the briefcase he held in his hand. "What's that?" She questioned, leaning forward to rest her forearms on the island. Crumbs dug into her skin, reminding her of her children that she hadn't seen in days.
The tattooed man once again motioned to his men, and this time, the men left. Once the door shut behind him, the gangster made his way around the table. He placed the case in front of her, unlatching it. "Open it."
Adriana glanced uncertainly at the case, her hands shaking as she went to lift the top. Her fingers rested on the case, as her eyes met his. "If there's a limb or something like that, just tell me." He pressed his fingers at the small of her back, a smirk making way to his lips. "Open it."
Tears sprung to her eyes, as she slowly lifted the top of the case. Her eyes were shut tightly, cowering away from the contents in the briefcase. He cleared his throat, as she felt him reach into the case to pull out whatever was in it. "Put it on."
Her eyes snapped open, only to find a neon green sleeveless turtleneck dress. "What the hell is this?" He chuckled, placing the dress in her hands. "Just go put on the dress." She shook her head, her brows furrowed. "Listen, I have somewhere to be. I'm not playing your bullshit games."
Before she could react, he was towering in front of her, and backing her into the counter. "Don't forget, Mama. I got other ways to put you in your place." Her breath hitched in her throat, feeling her cheeks heating up. His menacing look turned into a smug one, noticing her fidgety manner. He reached up, twisting a strand of her hair between his fingers. He inhaled sharply before pulling away, leaving Adriana to let out a heavy sigh.
"I'll wait out here."

"I won't be able to make it tonight, don't bother picking me up." Adriana breathed into the phone, looking for a pair of shoes to go with the neon green dress. "You're leaving us?" Ruby questioned, her voice almost a hushed whisper.
"I have something to do that's not reschudle-able." Adriana plucked a pair of nude pumps from her closet, glancing once at the door. Before Ruby could speak again, Beth's voice made its way through the speaker.
"You can't just abandon us." Adriana flinched at the sound of Beth's angered voice, pulling a matching nude bag from the top of her closet. "I'm not abandoning you guys, my life depends on this."
"We all have other things to do, Adriana!"
"I can't! Okay? This is much bigger than robbing some old lady's house." She sighed, hearing silence on the other line. "This will help us. I'll see you tomorrow." She quickly hung up the phone, hearing footsteps outside her door.
"You good in there, Mama?" His voice sounded through the door, teasingly. "Don't tell me the dress is too small, I was sure I knew all your measurements." Adriana rolled her eyes, undressing from her previous dark hoodie and jeans and slipping into the dress.
"I'll be out in a minute."

"Ah, I knew this would fit you just right." His tongue darted out to his lips, his eyes scanning her body in the tight-fitting dress.
"Why am I doing this anyway?" She questioned, throwing her hands up. His eyes flickered up to hers, his bottom lip trapped between his teeth. That's when she noticed his attire, a white button-up shirt tucked into black slacks. "What's going on?" She asked once again, her eyes narrowing. "You're gonna call me Rio."
He approached her, holding his hand out to her. She hesitantly gripped his hand, feeling his thumb rub over her knuckles like it did once before. "Well, you know my name." She shrugged, following after him as he led her out of the house.
A black SUV sat in the driveway, her shoulders tensing. "Where are you taking me, Rio." He glanced back at her, smirking. He opened the car door, motioning for her to get in the car. "I'm not kidnapping you."
She nodded, slipping into the car. She gripped her purse tightly, watching as he slipped in next to her. He nodded towards the driver, leaning back in his eat. He placed his arm behind her head, glancing back down at her purse. He held out his hand, his eyebrow raised. "Give me the gun."
She inhaled sharply, narrowing her eyes. "What makes you think I have a gun?" She challenged, partially turning her body to face him. He sneered, gripping her knee. "I'm not stupid, Sweetheart. Don't take me for an idiot. You left the house with no fight, got in the car with no fight and you're holding onto that bag for dear life. Give me the damn gun."
Adriana searched his eyes, feeling the burn of his intense stare. She reached into her bag, harshly pulling out the gun and slamming it into his hand. He furrowed his brows, a scowl making way onto his face. "Fix the attitude before I fix it for you." Adriana crossed her arms, turning away from him.
He leaned back into his seat, tucking the gun into the back of his pants. A long beat of silence passed by before he finally spoke again. "You're my wife. We have three kids at home. The eldest, Ana, The middle child, Marco, and the youngest, Sebastian." Adriana snapped her head towards Rio, her eyes widening.
"Leave them out of this, or I swear I'll-" Rio tilted his head, gazing down at her. "Or you'll what?" Tears sprung in her eyes, as she tried avoided his gaze. "Don't worry, Sweetheart. I won't touch them, not now at least. Listen, we got married in 05' and then had Ana in 12', we had Marcus in 11', close I know but we just love to fuck like bunnies." He glanced at her smirking lightly.
Adriana's cheeks heated up once again, feeling a familiar heat pool in her stomach. "And Sebastian?" Rio chuckled, nodding lightly. "We had him in 15'. We call him Bastian though. We also got one on the way" His eyes darted to her stomach, his fingers brushing against her stomach, teasingly. She swatted his hand away, crossing her arms. "Do I look pregnant to you?" Rio shook his head, a small smile making way to his face. "Not at all."
Adriana nodded, pursing her lips. "Why?" Rio leaned away, his attention now on the blurred street out the window.
