Not Once But Twice

I once fell, and you
were there across from where
I stood, the spot where our eyes
started to talk with each other.

It was you who made these cheeks
blush when they are down and sad,
it was you who made these lips
grin when they could hardly smile.
That time, you made my little world
so big when you are around.

I once fell, not because
of what my eyes have seen but
of what my heart truly felt
and of all the guys out there,
you were the one who made this
dormant heart pulsate once again.

We told the stars about our
vows, wrote our story under the
moonlight sky and we even asked
the universe to keep us until the
end of our time.

I once fell, in your gentle arms
and sweetest care, was trapped in
your laughter and deluded with
your promises.

Yet everything changed
when a storm landed in our
universe, you went scared and
gave up everything when
everyone's pulling us away from
each other—and then one day,
you told me that you can
no longer be my sentinel.

I was alone after that storm
with only few to lean on, rains
did pour down in me, but when
I found the rainbow to smile
again, you came back making me
fall again, but unknown to me—

your act of coming back was
only a sign of leaving me.
