Sodapop's P.O.V.

I run after Y/N, and pull her to the sidewalk. She begins to sob into my shoulder and I rub her back.
"Shh... Shh..." I comfort, "It's okay, it'll be okay. Dally's just drunk. None of that was true. I promise Y/N."
"Yes it was!" She cries, "I did deserve everything I got! I'm such a worthless piece of trash! Why are you even here now?"
"Because I love you, Y/N," I hug her, "Please, just ignore everything Dally said."

She continues to cry and I carry her home. Darry looks worried when I walk in with a sobbing Y/N, but I just mumble, "I've got this." and continue walking into her room.
I probably should've said more to Darry, but I was too wrapped up in the moment.
I lay her down on her bed, and lay beside her. I cover us with the blanket and wrap my arms around her.
Her sobs turned into quiet sniffs, and she eventually fell asleep.

I don't really remember falling asleep, but I suddenly wake up and see Y/N's peaceful face in front of mine.
You never would've guessed she was crying the night prior.
"Hey, beautiful," I whisper when she opens her eyes.
"Hey handsome," she whispers back.
"How are you feeling?" I ask her, she hides a frown.
"I'm good!" She fakes a smile.

"N/N," I raise my eyebrow, "Don't lie. It's okay, you have every right to be upset with Dallas."
"I have no idea why you'd say that," Y/N sits up, "I don't have a reason to be upset with anyone."
"Please, Y/N," I begin to plead, "Dally was being a jerk, more than usual."
"Sodapop," Y/N nervously laughs, "I'm-I'm fine."
"If you're fine, then kiss me," I bluff.
"What?" She asks.

"If you're okay, and don't lie, kiss me, and I'll drop it," I challenge, knowing that she wouldn't-
Y/N's lips meet mine and though I'm taken aback, I kiss her for a few seconds before she pulls away, blushes, and gets up.
"Wait, you can't-" I begin.
"You said you'd drop it," She says, "So drop it."
I sigh and follow her to the living room. Steve's laying in a recliner, Johnny's laying on the long couch, Dally-who has a black eye and bloody nose- is sprawled out on the floor, and Two-Bit in another recliner.

Everyone wakes up and breakfast is a little awkward.
"The hell happen to you?" Darry raises his eyebrow at Dally.
"Johnnycake over here can pack a good one," He nods his head towards Johnny. I see Y/N smile to Johnny for a few seconds.
"Damn, good job, Johnnycake," Darry smiles.
After eating in silence, Dally speaks up, "Listen, Y/N-"
"It's okay," She interrupts.
"But-" Dally tries.

"I know you were drunk, Dal, it's okay," She smiles, "You didn't mean it, and look, I'm still wearing your necklace. I wouldn't be wearing this if I were upset with you."
Dally's eyes trail to Y/N's neck. She's wearing his necklace.
"But you should be mad," He says, obviously happy with her reaction.
"And you should be hungover," Y/N says playfully.
"Love ya, Y/N," Dally mumbles.
"I know ya do, Love," She smiles.

Dallas's P.O.V.

She smiles at me. How can she smile at me? I'm a monster. I hurt her. She's one of my best friends and I hurt her. But she forgives me. How? She plays with my necklace as she drinks her orange juice.
I never wanna touch alcohol again.
Y/N laughs her beautiful giggle and smiles at me again. The twinkle in her eye. The one's that's always there when she's truly happy. It's there. How can she be truly happy with me in her life?
"Bye, Dally," She kisses my cheek and heads out with Steve and Soda.

"Wait, where are they going?" I ask.
"To the DX," Two-Bit says, "Where they work...?"
"Oh, yeah," I nod.
"Dally, I know you feel bad, but you have to eat," Darry sighs.
I look down at my full plate.
"How can she forgive me?" I ask.
"Beats me," Ponyboy rolls his eyes.
"Because she's Y/N, that's who she is," Darry tries to explain, "She forgives people. She's just that way, okay?"

"But I said all those horrible things," I frown.
"Dally, you know that we all make mistakes," Johnny says, "Y/N's just good at not caring about mistakes. She can overlook anyone's flaws."
"I don't know why it bothers me so much," I shift in my seat.
"Because what you said didn't only hurt her, it hurt your relationship with her," Two-Bit says, "And now you feel regret. The regret of your poor words."
