"Oh my god! You go, girlfriend!" I pull the phone away from my ear as Roux continues to yell through it.
I chuckle, "You're making my ears bleed."
She laughs, "Honestly I'm just so glad you're going to stop obsessing over Calvin."
"I was not obsessing," I mutter and lower my voice as I'm walking into the elevator.
I see my reflection in the elevator and fix my work shirt. Bleh. I seem so boring compared to what I was wearing last night.
Roux laughs in my ear again and scoffs, "Girl, please. You guys went on two dates and kissed only two times after each date. And you can't seem to get over that because you haven't dated since."
I wince a little knowing she's right. I always felt like Calvin would somehow beg for me to date him, so I've always waited for him. I don't even understand why I ever pushed him away.
"Ugh. Shut up." I tell her.
She chuckles, "I hate that Ruth was such a cockblocker."
My mouth drops, "She was not!" I laugh, "nothing was going to happen."
The elevator pings when it gets to my floor.
"Listen I'm at work now. We'll talk this weekend? At your party?"
"Fine. But, you better keep this sexy Caroline thing going. I like the vibe." She chuckles as I hang up.
I make my way to my office and just as I'm about to sit on my desk, there's a knock on my door.
"Come in!" I say as I put my purse down.
Ian's head pops in first making me smile. I've been thinking about him all night. Ruth didn't make it any better, she wanted to know everything. He makes a full appearance and I notice him holding a rose.
I grin, "Good morning, is that for me?" I point at the rose.
"Good morning." He kisses my lips as he gets close and my mind races back to last night, but soon enough he backs away a tiny bit. "And yes this is for you."
I grin and take the rose. But I notice his stance is a little stiffer and he backs away a little bit more now. I start to feel a little nervous.
"I actually came here with a question?"
He sounds serious, "Okay." I say.
"So I know last night you said that you understood that I wanted something special." He states as our eyes lock and I nod, "I just never got to officially ask if you wanted to be exclusive. Er-um... or like my girlfriend? Since we um- or we never got to that and there was also, Ruth. I just want to be on the same page. I want you to be my- or will you be my girlfriend?"
He's stuttering and his whole stance is nervous. Why can't Calvin be this cute? I've never even seen him nervous around me.
Shit. Stop thinking about him!
I smile, "Yes, of course, we're on the same page."
I get closer to him and he pulls me into his arms and I wrap my arms around his shoulders and look up to meet his gaze.
"I want something special too," I tell him.
Suddenly his lips are on mine and even though he's not Calvin. He still has his own way of making me feel good.

Ian is going to pick me up from my apartment so we can go to the twin's birthday party. They're turning 21 so it's a huge party.
