Calvin's POV

**Same day

I wake up in a great mood this morning. Caroline's little outburst last night was all I needed. She wants me just as bad as I want her. I can get Ian out of the picture. I'm not too worried about him. I was just worried if I was too late.

I walk into my office and I see my new assistant going through some papers. Usually, I'd call out orders and have them tell me my schedule. But, since it's his first day on his own, I'll just look up the schedule myself. Fuck me, I only have time for lunch. I was hoping I had more time to go down to see Caroline and see her eyes widen as I walk into her office again.

As lunchtime comes around. There's a knock on my door as I settle the signed paperwork I needed to get to Nathaniel.

"Come in." I about groan.

Danielle walks in with two salads in hand. I roll my eyes. Nathaniel sucks. I had her removed from the list. I didn't want her just showing up when she wanted to anymore.

"Lunch?" She places the salads down on the desk while she smiles.

I didn't usually like eating at my desk. I'd rather eat at the table that was in the center of my office, but I didn't want her to think I wanted her anywhere near me.

"I'd hardly call this lunch, but whatever." I say as I walk towards the door of the office, "I'll be just a second."

I walk over to Nathaniel as he's typing an email. He looks at me nervously but quickly composes himself. I guess I like that. The women usually cant compose themselves when they're nervous.

"What the fuck is Danielle doing in my office?" I frown.

He stutters as he pulls the list from his computer, "She's right here, sir."

He points at his screen and the letters are in red instead of black. I roll my eyes. I guess it's not entirely his fault my old assistant didn't let him know what red stood for.

"Her name's in red. Meaning I don't want even the slightest excuse of her walking into my office unannounced. I'll let it slide today, but she's so annoying I don't want you letting her in again like this."

I didn't give him a chance to respond as I walked back to my office. I loosened my tie as I went to sit on my seat. I need a shot of tequila or scotch if I'm going to be near this woman. I look at her annoyed that she's even here. She's wearing a really tight black dress that shows a lot of cleavage. She sits forward obviously doing this on purpose, thinking she can have my attention.

"I miss you." She pouts.

"Why?" I frown as I take a bite of the salad. "We haven't fucked in over four months."

Her posture stiffens, "That's not because of my lack of trying. You would go fuck someone else before even coming to bed with me."

I roll my eyes, "You're annoying."

The door opens and my eyes widen. I hate Danielle more than ever right now.

"Hey," I say softly as if to not scare her away or make her worried that Danielle and I have anything going on.

Danielle scoffs because she knows I broke up with her to be with Caroline. I didn't say anything hoping Caroline would speak to me.

"Er...-I just came by to see if you wanted to go get some lunch, but..." Her eyes move towards our salads. I fucking hate salad.

Danielle laughs quietly and I glare at her as she takes a bite of her salad. Caroline watches her with her brown scared eyes. Fuck.

She walks back towards the door. "Seriously, sorry I bothered." And she leaves as quickly as she can.
