The twins and I walk into a luxurious penthouse. This is very convenient because it's close to work, but it seems very expensive. The sound of our heels clicking echoes throughout the penthouse.

"Ugh, this looks like Ryan's old penthouse." Ruth looks around in disgust.

I take in all the gray walls and black furniture. It's a very mid-century modern type of design. It's actually a very nice place, but I do see how it can look like a manly home.

"It's not so bad. We can just switch out the furniture." I say as I shrug.

A small smile comes across my face as I remember Calvin helping me pick out furniture when I had just moved into my apartment. He had no idea what he'd got himself into when I took him to IKEA. He was so confused at how we would be able to order furniture and he'd just about shoved me out of the store when I explained to him we'd have to build the furniture ourselves.

I look over to Roux because she's the more reasonable one out of the two, but she's also making the same face as Ruth as she crosses her arms.

She frowns, "It does remind me of Ryan. I walked in on him with different women and I really wish I didn't. Thank god he's with Cassi now and thank god I haven't walked in on them. I'd like a place with white walls and pink furniture or something."

I roll my eyes because we can totally do that ourselves.

Ruth does a little clap looking enthusiastically, "Oh yes! Just like Cassi's old place!"

Cassandra sold that place as soon as she was able to put it up on the market. She hated that place with lovely memories or not. I didn't blame her.

My apartment, on the other hand, had ugly dark brown walls when I moved in, but Calvin helped me paint them white. He actually helped me a lot and somehow was always there for me. Everything changed after our second date.

Cassandra's words came ringing back to me. Calvin took my suggestion seriously and that was why he was with Danielle this whole time.

Gabe's aunt, Dawn, smiles, "Okay. Maybe we can meet up again next week?"

She's a beautiful tall woman, middle-aged, with long straight blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. She's also been very friendly.

Poor woman. She's shown us four places today. I don't know how she still has patience for us. I'm even tired of us.

The twins are extremely picky. I never knew they were this picky about houses.

I nod smiling at Dawn.

She smiles brightly, "Perfect! Now that I know your likes and dislikes, hopefully, next time will go much better."

"Yes!" The twins say in unison and I roll my eyes.

The twins and I end up having dinner at an Italian restaurant that's just a short walk from the penthouse we just saw.

"Those wore really nice places," I say to them sternly before taking a forkful of pasta in my mouth.

Somehow I always feel like an older sister scolding them for their actions.

Roux chuckles, "I'm sorry Caroline. I know you've said you wouldn't mind re-furnishing and painting so the place can be the way we like it, but I just can't do it. I know myself. I can commit to refurnishing because that actually seems fun, but I can't commit to painting. It just seems tiring and that's not fun."

I argue back, "It can be fun! It was totally fun when Calvin and I painted my apartment."

Roux and Ruth look at each other and smile at me softly. Roux takes a sip of her wine while Ruth leans forward.
