Heiley and I has finally arrived at the mall. We park out car at the parking lot and directly went inside. We started to search for Lukas at the grocery store, but he isn't there we also tried searching for him at the food court but still. Both of us got tired searching for him so we decided to take a break at the sky park. We sat on a bench trying to contact Lukas, but he doesn't answer.
"Where the hell is that guy!” Heiley groaned in anger and looking so irritated so I wouldn't try to interrupt. She repeatedly called him but there's still no answer
"Why won't we search for him again? "I suggested
"I am not walking for an hour again! " She rises her voice and I bet she's mad right now.
It took a couple of minutes that Heiley gave up calling Lukas and sat beside me. She lay her head on my shoulders and looking so disappointed
"Hey....He'll be here soon, I promise" as I hold her hand and tries to cheer her up. Then we saw Lukas approaching looking so... Disappointed also? He looks enrage, his eyebrows are almost joining together and seems really mad.
Heiley and I stood up then I notice her crossing her arms staring badly at Lukas and he did the same thing too. After a while they had a little argument and I HAVE NOTHING to worry about. No relationship has a happy life
Anyways Lukas full name is Luke Ash Johnson, he is a 24 years old guy who works as a waiter in a coffee shop but honestly, he had a large amount of pay off. Heiley and Lukas are in a relationship for 4 years, they met at the coffee shop and that is where they fell on love for each other. They were school mates in first year college and don't get me wrong, Lukas is a badass and low on knowledge, but when Heiley showed up, everything changed. Lukas became a Summa Cum Laude during his first-year college
followed by Heiley as Magna Cum Laude. They're love story proves me that you can change for love and that gives me hope to change but.... I always got dumped so what a big change.
"What the hell would take you so long!? Did you know how long we looked over for you?!" Heiley complains with anger and disappointment
"Do you think you're the only one who is searching all over the mall?! "Lukas answered angrily
I just snob and tired for listening then arguing for minutes so I look over the mall and saw a guy wearing the same black outfit from the CCTV camera.
"HEY, YOU!"I screamed and pointed him then he runs away, I chased him to know who he was
"Hey Rose! "Heiley screamed calling out my name
He run towards the 2nd floor and continuously chases him, the way is too crowded, but it doesn't stop me for chasing that guy. I've all around the mall running towards him but then a flood of people blocking the way just to order the tastiest Belgian waffles and that's the time he got escaped. I was exhausted and lost my sight of him, so I decided to return to the sky park. While walking around the park I saw Heiley a mile away, running towards me and hug me as tight as she can.
"Where have you been!? Don't leave us like that! " I can see in her eyes that she is really concern of my lost
"I found him! The guy wearing a black outfit" I said
"Then, where is he? "Heiley ask
While having a conversation with Heiley I suddenly notice the guy with a black outfit is behind her, the guy walks fast but I was able to grip his sweater's pocket and able to hold on something then he shove his shirt and run away. It happened only for a seconds, it was really a quick time .
"There he is" while looking him run away from us
"He has gone too far” Heiley said while looking at the same direction
"How about let's go to a cinema? "Lukas suggested
"Great idea, let's go Rose” Heiley called while they're both walking towards the cinema
I notice I was holding something from the pocket of that guy when I open my palm I saw a medicine named Aspirin and I know this medicine is for a heart failure since I am a medical student.
"Why would he have a medicine like this?” I ask myself and wonder to what I have done
"Rose! Are you coming? "Heiley called out my name asking me
"Yeahh sure be right there" As I followed her and put the medicine on my pocket
I promise to myself when he returns, I would probably ask him what he wants from me. That rose guy would never make my thoughts silent so I should have a plan to catch him and reveal his face.
KENJI POV
I am Kenji Wren Cyrus, a 23-year-old guy who has a heart problem since I was 6 years old. My father died when I was a baby, so I lived with my mother right now, I have two younger sister and one older brother. I have a stepfather once, but they left us. My 18 year old sister named Annica Cyrus owned a coffee shop here in L.A, she works for the family and so as my older brother Zachary Wren Cyrus,30 years old and already got wedded to Karen (Miller) Cyrus who lives in other country, Canada. Lastly my 5-year-old stepsister named Brianna Lynn Taylor who is an elementary student. He is my stepfather’s daughter and when he left us, he also left Bree with us.
I went to the mall with my two sisters to by some grocery but then I saw my secret crush named Francheska Rose Diaz with a friend, so I tried to follow her, and she started chasing me. I know I'm not allowed to run because of my heart failure but I have no choice and I wanted to remain as his secret admirer. I run and run until I have the chance to escape from her.
I am catching my breath since my heart starts to feel so tight that I could barely breathe. My watch beeps and it’s time for me to take my medicine but when I look over my pocket, it was not there. Maybe it fell after Rose pulled my sweater. I walk towards the edge nearby and sit on the ground and lean my back on the glass. My chest feels like hold with strong grip that not a word I can speak nor ask for help but then
"Ken! "I saw Annica holding Brianna's hand and called out my name then run towards me
"What happened?!"She exclaimed looking so terrified. She holds my cheeks and my hand
"Is brother okay? " Brianna ask with a very sweet little voice that gives me comfort as she speaks
"Bree, *gasp* can y-y-you call mom? "As forced myself to speak even though I'm having a hard time catching my breath. My chest hurts so bad that I want to cry in pain, but the doctor said that I must remain strong and calm and also, I don't want to let Brianna see me crying. She's really sensitive when she sees someone cry
"Here, tell mom that Ken needs help” Annica gave her my phone then starts calling mom.
"You look so pale and cold, what did you even do? "She asks me and looking very concern with her hand on my cheeks and smoothly rub my back
"Mom is coming” Brianna said while handing over the phone
"Want some water?” Brianna sweetly ask giving me a bottled water
"Thanks Bree” I replied and drink the water and breathe. Brianna smiled at me and hold my cheeks, her sweet warm smile made me comfortable and more relaxing. Having a sister like Bree is so heart-whelming she's always there for me whenever I feel sad and in pain
After a few minutes, Mom arrived and sent me home directly and gave me a medicine. That's as far as I remembered since it seems I got collapsed. Now, I’m just lying in my bed feel like a useless person that gives so much hassle in this family. Mom sat beside me with a water and medicines on a breakfast tray.
"Get better my son" my mom smiled sadly white patting my head gently
"I will mother and I promise you, once I'll recover we will be travelling around the world and ride on an airplane” As I cheered her up and smiles
"IF you recover” Zachary interfere
"Zach! "Mom scolded him
"I'm not lying mother, do you think for 20 years of having that CHD (Coronary Heart Disease) he would still recover?” Zach sarcastically ask while pointing me. I look down and felt so bad for what he said
"Take it back Zach!" Mom stood up and defended me
"I'll tell you mother, that guy is nothing than a hassle into this family. He can't even find a job-"
"Oh I can brother! "As I cut him off
"Really? Then why won’t you get up there and find a job already? "As he approaches me and I can sense of being challenged by Zach
"Zachary that's enough” Karen, his wife called her so that's where he back out and left my room. Karen approaches me and sat next to me
"I really apologize for him Ken, I notice that he became so aggressive after he got demoted from his job, I hope you'll understand" Karen sincerely apologizes even though it’s not her fault, she really loves my brother that he would take all of his bad deeds
"It’s okay Karen, I understand" as I smiled to cheer her up the suddenly heard a banging footsteps from the kitchen
"What was that?" I ask
Then Brianna suddenly went inside my room only wearing a bathrobe, runs and hops on me
"Honey be careful, your brother is still recovering” mom warned
"Eyy Ken I just took a bath. Smell me! Smell me!” Brianna said while rubbing her entire body to my face so I could just smell
her
"Oh really? Are you really smell fresh right now? Do you? do you?" As I baby talk her and tickle her cute squishy tummy. She laughs and giggles so much, her strawberry-locks curly hair and those her blue French eyes and a dimple on her cheeks makes her very attractive to look at, especially her chubby cheeks that I really want to bite but I won't even do it because she cries when I do that.
"Hey mom, can I talk with Ken for a moment?" Annica stated as she suddenly enters my room
"Sure. Why won't we bake some cookies Karen? " Mom suggested to Karen while they head outside
"Sure Mom"
The door closes as soon as they leave, Annica and I are the one who is left inside and so as Brianna. Annica sit next to my bed while Brianna scooch into my arm
and plays my phone
"What happened to you earlier? What did you do that made you feel so exhausted and leads you to a heart attack?" Annica looked at me seriously. I sighed and maybe I should just tell her the truth
"Remember the girl I met at your shop? " I ask and letting her remember something
"You mean Ms. Diaz that you had a crush on? " Annica guessed
"Yeah... So I saw her at the mall, and I tried to follow her and unexpectedly she noticed me, so I ran away" I explain while playing Brianna's curly and strawberry locks colored chair
"Pfttt... You're such a coward" She chuckles and lean on the chair
"Ken has a crush on someone?" Brianna asks sweetly while looking up to see my face
"You're still too young to understand those things Brianna" As I poke her nose and she continued to play my phone
"if you want to get notice, why do you have to run from her?" Annica asked me a she open a bag of chip from my desk.
"I-I don't know shrugged, thinking what's the reason why I can't get close to Rose. Maybe all I want is to remain secretly admired her beauty but what's the point of admiring someone that you couldn't even know her better. I just stopped thinking and continuously played with Brianna's hair then braid it.
"You're ruining my hair! " Brianna shove my hand and untied the braid that I made. I know she actually hates of being braided since her hair makes it curlier so, I decided to comb her hair instead. She looks at me badly that it seems I made a huge mistake in my life
"Can you pwease stahp?" She pouts and looks so adorable until I can't help myself since she's too cute and bit her arm
"WHAT THE HELL?!" Annica immediately pulled Brianna away from me when she heard it shrieks. I was just laughing when I saw Brianna cried looking like an old fat lady missing its eyeglasses
"Meanie! " Brianna condemned while crying. She ran outside after that calling for mother's attention and I just laughed into it
"You really can’t resist her adorableness, can’t you? " Annica titters and smile
"Well, it’s not my fault that she's too cute to be with" I chuckles and lean on my bed
"I better get going, there's something I should finish working on. See you later bro" Annica tapped my shoulders before she left my room
I'm now alone in my room, feeling so useless since I couldn't stand yet my body is still weak so I just stared by the window and looked at the clear sky. I thought of Rose for a moment, I was looking for a way on how to get her attention or how to know her better especially, her friend Heiley is guarding her always. If you ever wondered how I know that a lot from her, I secretly stalk her Instagram post and Facebook account.
She really look like a goddess because of her unique and rare beauty that's why I'm so in to her like I want to be with her but that would be very impossible because I'm just a guy who lives in an apartment while she lives in a penthouse and really rich, But I still hoped for something good that will happen to me as I always think at the brightest side of my life.
I got very bored of lying in my bed, so I grab my phone from the nightstand beside my bed and opened my Instagram then saw Rose's new post, a picture with her friend Heiley and Heiley's boyfriend in a movie theater. I smiled as she appeared first thing in my news feed and continuously scrolls down. After a few hours of playing with my phone, I stood up from bed as I gained strength from me now. I went straight into the kitchen and saw Annica, Brianna and mom baking some cookies
"Son, you must be hungry. Here have a cookie" My mom greeted me, handling a tray of cookies
"Thanks" I replied and I was about to grab a cookie yet I notice that its burnt so I ask "Who baked the cookie?" knowing that mom never burns a cookie
"Be proud, your little sister baked it for you" Mom whispered into my ear
"How am I supposed to eat them if they're all burnt, it’s going to be taste bitter" I whispered back then I saw Brianna staring at me and probably she's about to cry so I had no choice than to eat the burnt cookies since I don't want to disappoint her, after all she's just an adorable six year old kid trying to bake cookies for its brother. She smiled after I ate the cookies and seems very happy
"Yey! brother ate the cookies I made!" She exclaimed with glee
"Do you want me to bake some more Ken?" She asks and that startled me
"Uh... I guess I had enough Bree" as I pat her head and went straight to the kitchen table and sat by the round chair, wondering what Annica was cooking
"What you got there?" I asked Annica
"Uhm, Croquettes" She responded while doing a deep fry
"Why are you guys cooking something, I mean is there any occasions?" I ask wondering they cooked a lot of foods today
"There's no occasion honey but I heard it’s a nice day for us to spend time together" Mom said while smiling at us
We waited until evening and had our dinner together as a family, talking about the stuff that we've been through while eating our food on the table then
"Oh! Hun, I had some great news to tell you" Karen told Zach with a hold of his hand
"What is it Hun?" Zach asked as he leaned on the chair and seems to be he's all ears on his wife
"I was just hired of my job at a publishing company here in Los Angeles" She told us gladly and we're all surprised and happy for her
"Wow. That’s great then, when do you begin?" Zach asked gladly
"The boss company said I shall start next week since he'll be filing all of my documents and my own personal office" She responded
"That's a very great news Karen, it’s a nice way to start a chapter of your life" Annica interrupted
"Yeah you're right" Karen chuckles. while they are celebrating, I just felt grieving for being useless, so I stood up and
"Excuse me." As I grab my plate and left it in the sink. I went straight into my room and sat by the window. I really felt useless for having CHD for 17 years.
Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) or coronary artery disease, it is when the coronary arteries becomes narrow. The coronary arteries are the blood vessels that supply oxygen and blood to the heart. CHD tends to the develop when cholesterols builds up in artery walls, creating plaques. These plaques could cause the arteries to narrow and reduces the blood to flow to the heart which leads to heart attacks or some serious heart problems. You may experience squeezing, pressure, heaviness, tightening, burning and aching of the chest which can cause some symptoms of indigestion, heartburn, weakness, sweating, nausea, and shortness of breath. Patient can also feel restless, dizziness, general discomfort, and pallor of face during the heart attack.
Preventions may be avoid causing too much actions, diets with less sugar, salt, and saturated fats, and avoid places that is known in so much pollution. When I was 6 years old, I went to the doctor and diagnosed that I had CHD for having high levels of the amino acid homocysteine. My mother already felt some complications of my birth the day I was born and that may be the sign of having CHD.
While I'm feeling sentimental in my room, I just had to look the photo of Rose to liven my spirit. She's been the reason that gives me hope to live in this stupid and useless life, yet I can sense that there is something in her that I couldn't explain. Staring at the stars while thinking of her made me fell into sleep and I can feel that I'm so thankful that I know her even its not in person.
