CHAPTER 8

I rushed inside the restaurant and saw Heiley waiting by the front door with Lukas, as she sees me, she rushed into me and hugged me so tight. "I was scared you couldn't make it" I hugged her back and looked into her worried face, I hold her cheeks and squishes it.

"That will never happen"

"My parents are waiting by the corner seat, we should go" Lukas interrupted , we walked towards the spot of his parents

Every step I take makes my heart race, trembling with my hands cold. I took a really deep breath to calm myself up, I don't know what's going to happen, but I hope this won't get into a huge mess. As we reached at their spot, I saw Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, I say "Good evening Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, I apologize that I'm late" politely with a sweet smile on my face.

"Oh good, we weren't expecting you for another 10 minutes" She response with a rude attitude. I pursed my lips as I hold back my temper. I hate the way she looked at me, it's like she looks at me so low of her standards.

"I apologize, I unexpectedly had a schedule of a surgery at the hospital" I answered her politely even I am a little pissed off towards her

"Oh really? Then you shouldn't have offered us dinner if you're that busy" She affronts, U clenched my teeth and was about to hit her but then Heiley hold my hand before I raise it up

"Let's take a sit then" Lukas offered a seat and we finally take our seats silently

The moment we take our seats, the waitress approached us and takes all our order, not for long our orders was served. I ordered Caesar salad since its already evening to eat a lot. I looked at them and took an observation. I sit up straight and finally opened a topic

"I heard you're going to Spain Mrs. Johnson"

"I'm glad you knew, I was thinking that your little despicable friend and my son is better off to be parted" Mr. Johnson response

I chuckle and scoff, making myself liking pity for them and suddenly smiles for a tease, "Think again Mr. Johnson, your son and Heiley is been together for 4 years. Why are you still against that? " I say as an insult

"We are talking about inheritance my dear. Our money will be lend to my son's hand and his lover" Mrs. Johnson added

"That's not a proper reason to part them" I fended

"We are looking for a much better person for my son, the one who we can trust"

"Mom... is Heiley can't be trusted?" I was surprised when Lukas finally spoke, I bet he heard enough of his mother's insults towards Heiley

"Heiley is just a girl, living together with her friend" She whispers into Lukas, but I can clearly hear it. I clutch my fist and looked at her in a menace

"Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, for 4 years, I did all of my best to show you how deserving I am to be with your son. I looked for jobs and work so hard to be a successful person like the both of you... But there was one thing I realize" Heiley stood up and holds the edge of the table, leaning towards then and smirks "There is no such a successful person without good manners and right conduct..."

Their eyes widen and started to rage upon Heiley. Mrs. Johnson stood up and slammed the table, I stood up immediately and say "Don't make a scene in here Mrs. Johnson"

"Mom, Dad... there is something I wanted to say" Lukas interrupted and his parents is all attention to him. "I refuse to take the restaurant business" It shocks as all when we heard him said those words. His parents were speechless but when he looked at me and Heiley, he smiled
