I open my eyes and woke up from a very good sleep after the thought of having high hopes in meeting Rose. I looked by the window and admire the beauty of nature. Cold breeze of air touches my skin and gives me shivers down to my spine and wondering ‘what would I do’ for today's great day. I hopped down from my window and went my desk to grab my journal. List of daily routines written in calligraphy I check on and it seems I'll be leaving another rose for Rose at her penthouse. I went outside my room and greeted my family a good morning, they smiled and greeted me the same way, Brianna runs towards me and clings into my leg, she giggles so adorably and greeted me as well.
"You had a good sleep Ken? " She asks while clinging into my leg
"Yep! super" I responded with a pinch on her cheeks and walk towards the dining room. Sort of difficult to move as Brianna clings tightly and never let go whatever how I swing my leg, yet she was having fun on it. She let go as mother called her for a bubble bath, she really does loves bubble bath.
I sat on my place and began take the breakfast my mother prepared. Sunny side up eggs, bacon and a slice of bread is the perfect breakfast for a perfect day. While I was eating, I saw Annica just went out from her room with a squinting and walks so weary, it's like she hasn't sleep for the whole evening.
"Worked overnight? " I questioned her while stuffing food in my mouth
"What? no" She disputed and went to the sink and wash her weary face off
"Then what is it? " I once ask her and sat beside me after drying her wet face with a towel. She looks better after washing her face since before that she really looks like a depressed monkey who lost its banana.
"Just had a night chats with my friends" She response and I nodded
"Btw, I'll go visit at the coffee shop later, are you coming?" She ask
"sure, I'll be dropping by to Rose's house anyway" I beamed
"Hearing you say that, annoys me" she oppose
"what do you mean" stuffing my food in my mouth
"It sounds like you're owning her already and you actually don’t " She look at me in concern "Why won't you just introduce yourself to her anyway?” She opines with gleam in her face. I frowned and had a though of something like that, but my point is, she might not like me
“Annica, you already know that I couldn’t do that” I looked down and keep on frowning
“So, my brother will stay as a weird stalker?” She asks and that made me wonder. “To be honest Ken, you’re perfect and there’s nothing you can embarrass about” She cheered me up
“Perfect?” I scoff. “Is my health perfect?” I ask her sarcastically, she looked down and pursed her lips in disappointment. Obviously, she has no response after I said that, since we both know that I’m not healthy after having this stupid disease.
“Ken don’t be like that…We all know you had a heart failure but that won’t stop you for loving someone” She tries to make me smile. “I don’t quite understand why you won’t introduce yourself” She added with a shrug
“I’m weak and Rose is an adventurous type of person. She is beautiful and flawless, I got syringe scars. We are not compatible Ann”
“You may not be, but you can be her friend” She beams at me and that liven up my spirit, it was heart-whelming to hear her said that. I stand up and leave my dishes by the sink and wash it gently. I took a bath and prepared my clothes to wear. I opened my closet and grab my blue crew sweater paired with a black, slim jeans and a pair of white sneakers. I wear simple clothes all time since I’m just a simple man, who’s contented with his simple lifestyle.
I ask permission to my mother and my siblings to go out for a while which I will actually head to Rose’s place. They all agreed to let me out, so I walked outside the apartment and make my way, I decide to pass by to my best friend’s flower shop to buy a rose to be left at Franchecska’s penthouse. My best friend’s name is Chase Wilson, we had the same age and definitely has a lot of girls because a lot of them attracted with his light brown hair in a bad boy hairstyle, eyes that are deep shaded in topaz blue and a masculine body. A perfect ideal guy for every woman would think, a bad boy type but damn he is super genius. Graduated in a business school and still looking for a job right now. I arrived at his flower shop and saw his mother.
“Good morning Mrs. Wilson” I greet and wave my wave my hand
“Oh, hello Wren, it’s good to see you this morning” She responds with her very sweet voice and gave me a warm smile
“Is Chase in there?” I ask politely
“oh sure, let me call him first” as she went inside the shop and call out her son “Chase! Wren is looking for you” She yelled out
“Coming mom Chase responds from upstairs.
They had their house upstairs and the lower ground, they had their flower shop’s spot. I saw Chase hurriedly running all the wat down and seen him in a messy hair, squinting and looks so wasted.
“Dude… what the hell happened?” I ask as he really looks terrible
“We had a party last night and I guess I drunk to much” He replies with a yawn
“Whatever, just wanted to take what I reserved yesterday”
“You mean the rose you reserved?”
“Oh… son, are you trying to find a job or not?” His mother interrupted and that made him wondered. “Huh?” He responds
“You brainless pigeon, just kept on getting drunk, having parties and never finds a job!” Mrs. Wilson scolded
“Do you think we’re not having a hard time to find a money?!” She added
“Mom shush it. You’re embarrassing me” He speaks rudely and her mom scoffs. “Embarrassing? EMBARRASSING?!” She hoarse and that made him grin and well alarmed as his mother started to grab the spading fork.
“oh no…”
“You little brat!” His mother screamed and about to attack him with the spading fork, he runs upstairs and lock the door of his room. I heard my name was called so I went outside and looks up at the window
“Your rose is in the orange flower vase, just leave your payment on the desk” He yelled out. I’m literally laughing of his situation so, I nodded and laughed at him.
I went back inside and look for the orange vase. I grab the rose after I found it and left a tip on the desk as Chase told me. I’m now heading my way to Rose but, I don’t have enough money for a taxi so, I had no choice to walk for a long distance. While walking, I just had fun in observing every people that passes by. There’s this businessman who looks like heading his way to work, a street with a long queue of cars in a heavy traffic, a woman that passes by me who wears a cleavage dress that her boobs is going to pop out already that really looks inappropriate. I pass by to a park with adorable little children having a great time with their friends, playing tag which, I always wanted to play since I was kid but, it would just lead me to a heart attack.
I finally arrived at the most expensive penthouse where Rose lives. I’m actually not allowed to get in so, I just had to snuck in. I wore my cap the I’ve been hanging on my pants to avoid getting into a notice, I went inside to the elevator and pressed the 5th floor. I hid my hand inside my pocket and look down to avoid any contact. I feel butterflies in my stomach and probably nervous to get caught. I’m all alone in the elevator and it gives more stomachache as I’m getting close into the 5th floor. Ding, the elevator door opens, and I can see their front door already, I left the rose in front of the door and the letter that I written last night. I pressed the doorbell to let them notice and immediately hid behind the pillar since the elevator closes. I heard the door opened and peek for a little. Rose reaches down the rose and look at the letter
“Heiley, come and see this” She called out and Heiley appears somehow
“It is the rose guy again?” Heiley ask
“Maybe. We should get inside for a closer look” Rose turned back and went inside with Heiley and it’s a good timing that the elevator is open once again
I rushed into the elevator and pressed the lower ground button. I saw Rose coming back to close the door and we had a short eye contact, we were both surprised and hasn’t move a muscle. The elevator starts closing and that when she screamed “HEY!” I began panicking and pressed the button repeatedly until its fully closed. I sighed in relief and I know she would use the other elevator to follow me all the way down. As the door opens, I immediately run to the nearest room and didn’t even manage to look at the sign board. It’s a bit dark and when I look over, there are a lot of monitors from a CCTV cameras, I tried not to make a sound but suddenly, I bumped my feet into the trash can and that made the securities glance into my way.
“Who’s there?” The security guard asks, and I nervously smiled with no response
“You’re not supposed to be in here” He hoarse. Then I immediately run all the way outside but then, I saw Rose looking over so, I hid behind the palm plant for temporary and run away when I had the chance to escape. I run straight ahead while looking back and then I bumped into somebody that I didn’t know and heard her yell
“AH!” She grunts. “I-I’m sorry” I apologize and when I look at her, it was my young sister Annica holding Brianna’s hand tightly
“Annica?” I ask and wondered. “What are you doing here?” I added
“I should be the one asking you that” She gave me a stern look and placed her hand on her waist
“One word, rose” I groaned
“I knew it” She smirks. “We’re on our way to Brianna’s school. You can stop by at coffee shop if you want” She say while tucking her gorgeous blonde straight hair behind her ears “But, I wanted you to come, lets discuss this issue later” She added
“Did Ken visit a friend?” Brianna interrupted, asking me sweetly while looking so adorable with her uniform
“Yeah?” I uncertainly say looking so confused at Annica and she just chuckles
“Can Brianna meet her?” She smiled
“Un jour Bree, un jour tu la rencontreras “I speak in fluent French for her to understand clearly
“d'accord” She replied and gave me a hug. Annica crouches at Brianna and look at her into the eye “frère te laissera la rencontrer, but for now, we should go to school okay?” She smiled
“okay” Briana nods and they make their way to school already
I walk about 3 steps and grab my phone from my pocket, I tried to contact Chase and it took me 10 seconds for him to answer
-Hello?
“Chase, meet me at the coffee shop, pronto”
-Seriously? I just wore my pajamas
“Why would you wear your pajamas in the morning?”
-I’m going to bed
“The coffee shop or I’ll tell your mother about your make out session?”
-Love you bro
Then he hung up, I know he’ll be going after block mailing him. I’m on my way to my sister’s coffee shop and I still need to walk all the way there since I don’t have enough money. As I arrived, I sat on the stool by the window and waited for Chase. I grab my phone and scroll into Rose’s IG posts, she had a new post of her which is a photograph of her favorite breakfast which are pancakes. It’s probably obvious since she kept on posting pancakes with a heart emoji as a caption. Yeah… I know a lot about her since I’m good in stalking someone.
I glance at the door since I heard the wind chimes sounded softly into my ear. I saw Chase rushed to get in and I was surprised of his weird outfit. A gray hoodie and a bunny designed pajamas and he is weirdly wearing crocs. He sat beside me panting so bad
“What the hell are you wearing?” I yelled at him inside voice
“Look, I can explain. You called me and I was going to sleep, I’m too tired to change my clothes” He explains
“Bro, you look stupid!” I holler
“Really? Then look at those girls staring at me flirtatiously” He rested his cheek on his palm after pointing at the girls who sat on the corner of the shop giggling so much. I glance on their way and trying to listen what they are saying “Isn’t he so cute?” The girls giggling while staring at Chase. I glance back to Chase and seems to be flirting as well.
“Glad you came” My sister interrupted, blocking the girls view of Chase. She just showed from nowhere and by the look of her in uniform she’s been her all along.
“You told me so” I response
“Who’s this?” Chase ask rudely
“Just happens to be Kenji’s younger sister” She replied to Chase in an edgy manner
“You never told me you had an annoying little sister” Chase insulted
“Pardon?”
“Annica, can you order me some of your cappuccino please” I order. She rolled her eyes at Chase as she walks away
“What the hell are you doing?” I ask sternly at Chase
“I didn’t know you had a gorgeous sister” He smirked. I rolled my eyes and suddenly grab his collar and pulled him close to me
“I’m warning you Chase, don’t you ever try to be slut to my sister” I pushed him away and that made him sit back into the stool
“Chill, I’m not into short girls” He raises his both hands and chuckles. My sister arrived, placing a tray into the table with the cappuccino I ordered
“Here’s your cappuccino”
“I bet it taste too bitter that it can be really disgusting” Chase insulted her. She slammed the table and pissed off at Chase, her face is popping red and looks wanted to punch Chase on the face “Listen here mister, this is my first time meeting you and by the look of your eyes, you don’t seem nice and probably naïve” She insulted back and that made him chuckles
“I called this meeting for my issue here… so stop that argument of yours please” I interrupted and they both sit back
“Did you talk to her?” Annica ask
“No, I didn’t get a chance” as I drink my cappuccino
“Dude, how can you get a chance when you kept on running”
“Ken, let me remind you about running away…” She says
“Shut up Miss know-it-all” Chase interrupted her
“What the hell is your problem?!” She contends
“You’re my problem. You are too annoying” He looks away
“We’re just having a conversation what is so annoying with that?!” She bursts up in anger
“THE CAPPUCCINO IS HOT!” I yelled at them just to have attention. They stayed quiet after what I did and rolled their eyes to one another. “Annica, I’m fine… I haven’t felt a heart attack earlier. Then Chase, I’m illegally snuck into the penthouse, so I kept on running away. Now I hope everything I said was clear” I explain while trying to hold my small patience after getting annoyed from they’re argument. I felt my blood boiling so, I just breath out and smiled
“What was that sweetheart? Oh I’m sorry… I guess your sister didn’t quite get that” Chase smirked at Annica while teasing her once again. Annica didn’t able to hold back her anger so, she walked out and left us
“Have you lost your mind?” I ask
“She’s sensitive” He gave me an uncertain look
“You know what? I need to talk to before it too late”
“To Miss know-it-all?”
“No, Rose… and hey, my sister’s name is Annica” I correct him then he just scoffs
I rested my chin on my palm and mixes my cappuccino. Still hesitating of my ways to be noticed by Rose and obviously, I couldn’t stay mysteriously leaving a single rose into her front door, it sounds cringe though. I gotta think of another ways…
