Exchange Student ~ Yan Haoxiang

Since I'm an exchange student, . I will be in China for a month. It's my first day today to attend school in China.

As I walked along the streets, I stopped by a bakery to buy some bread to feed the cats I saw when we visited the school last Saturday. There were cats in the garden.

As I bought the bread, I went to the bus stop but oops, I forgot which bus I should ride! I wanted to ask the people around me but I'm too shy but then, I saw a tall guy with his air pods on and is just staring at the road, and he's wearing the school's uniform. I'm sure he knows which bus to ride on.

I went near him and poked his shoulder with my finger. He looked at me and took off his air pod. He's quite handsome. 

"Uh, Do you know which bus I should ride to be able to arrive at this school?" I asked and pointed at the logo on the uniform I'm wearing.

He just raised his left eyebrow at me. Great. This is awkward. I didn't bother explaining so I just faced the road and looked down on the paper bag filled with bread. A bus then stopped by and he started to walk. "Follow me." He said.

"Ah, y-yes." I managed to say and quickly climbed on the bus with him. He stood beside two empty seats and gestured me to take a seat. I mumbled, "Thanks."

We were quiet the whole ride. He was sitting beside me. His eyes are closed with his air pods on. I slowly looked at him to try and analyze his face. I've never seen someone this handsome. 

I flinched when he opened his eyes a bit and looked at me with only his eyes. I suddenly turned my head to the window but because of too much panic, my forehead hit the window. I winced in pain as I rubbed my forehead. That hurt! I heard someone snicker and so I looked at him and he was trying his best not to laugh. I can tell.

As I just looked back on the window, I saw the school I'll be attending for a month. Wait, so I have to cross the road? I can't cross the road without someone to hold me.

I can't just ask him that favor!

The bus then stopped. He stood up to climb off so I did the same. He was already crossing the road but stopped and turned to see me standing still with my hands gripping onto the paper bag. I can't cross roads by myself.

I was shocked when he pulled me by the sleeve of my blazer and we crossed the road together. When we reached the school gates, I bowed to him and thanked him before jogging my way to the bulletin board which has a map. He stayed by the school gates, though. Maybe he's waiting for someone.

As soon as I understood the way to my designated room, I started walking my way to that room. As I went upstairs, I felt like something was looking at me so I tried to peek and saw him with two guys talking. I went up to the floor where the room is at and can still feel something looking at me even though we are there are also a lot of people.

As I went to the room, I went to my desk which is beside at the back row because the back row is where exchange students usually sit. The students have been mumbling, maybe they're talking about me.

Seconds later, he came in the room with his hands in his pockets and sat on the desk in front of me. We're... classmates?

Lunch came so I went to the garden where the cats were. I also decided that I would eat lunch here from now on. It's relaxing here. I ate lunch first before feeding the cats.

"Hm, you're cute. I'll call you Peppa because- "

While naming the cats I was feeding, somebody suddenly startled me by grabbing my shoulders all of a sudden. I screamed the last words to finish my sentence. "- I love Peppa Pig!" I even shut my eyes close. I opened my eyes and saw him again, snickering with his hands in his pockets. "Don't scare me like that!"

"Why are you here?"

"I was feeding the cats, and I ate my lunch here. What about you? Why are you here?"

"I always go here after eating lunch."

"I'm Yan Haoxiang, by the way. I can be your friend if you'd like."
