Chapter 40: deals with a demon

Jeff's pov
We were in Violet's hospital room.
I got up and went over to Jane. i nudge her gently.
"Jane.", I said.
She woke up and looked at me.
"What?", she asked.
"I'm going to go out. Need anything?", I said.
"Going where?", she asked.
"Kill that bastard who did that to my daughter.", I said.
"Jeff, there is already people on the look for you.", she said.
"I know.", I said.
Someone in a business suit came in.
"I think I could help.", the stranger said.
I looked at the stranger.
"Who the hell are you?", I said.
"I'm the demon Valefor. I'm here to offer you a deal.", valefor said.
I pulled out my knife.
"I don't make deals with demons.", I said.
Valefor put the knife down.
"That won't hurt me. I'll be back if you need me.", valefor said.
He walked over to Jane and kissed her hand.
"Get off of her, you bastard.", I said.
He walked to me.
"Remember what you are. You are more of a demon then I am.", valefor said.
Valefor left. I put my knife away. I sat back down.
"Aren't you going out?", she asked.
"Don't feel like it.", I said.
Jane called Slender.
"Hello, Slender. Its Jane. Do you know anything about the demon Valefor?", she said.
"No. I'll have Masky look up stuff about him.", slender said.
Jane walked out the door.
"Slender, can you check something out for me?", she asked.
"What is it?", slender said.
"Something is eating me from the inside.", she said.
"You mean like a guilty feeling?", slender said.
"No, I'm pregnant but I think it's eating me.", I said.
"Did you feel like this before?", slender asked.
"No, just after Valefor kissed my hand.", she said.
"You want me to teleport you here?", slender said.
"Yes. Give me a minute though.", she said.
"Okay.", slender said.
Jane hanged up and walked to me.
"I'll be back.", she said.
"Where?", I asked.
"I'm going to get some food. I don't like hospital food.", she said.
Jane kissed my cheek then left.
