|Song: Hero by Mountains vs. Machines|

Renegade ran down the hall. His leg was aching as hell as he put pressure on it but he didn't care. Now his face hurt like crazy too but that didn't matter as well. Only one thought was on his mind as he ran. To get the hell out of here.

If he could just get to the zeta-tubes...

Renegade saw a dozen of costumed men coming from the way he was running at. Shit.

"How many of you are there?!" Renegade shouted.

Renegade turned right and saw a door. He opened it and came to a hall with windows surrounding it. He ran and heard more footsteps coming from that direction too. He was surrounded.

Renegade stopped and looked around. He was trapped.

Suddenly a knife passed two inches away from Renegade's head, slashing through the window behind him.

Renegade gulped and looked around to see if there was anything he could use as a weapon. Unfortunately, he couldn't find any.

His shoulder and leg shouted in pain and Renegade was definitely not in the right shape to fight.

Well... then, there was only one thing left to do.

~4 hours earlier~

"Oh Batsy. It's so good to see you again. Because neither you, nor anyone have visited this room for THE PAST THREE FRICKIN HOURS! What is it with you leaving me alone in rooms anyway. First the interrogation room, then the cell and now this." Renegade shouted waving his hands, showing the room.

"There was a mission." Batman said.

"Please tell me you at least saved the World or something. Because my ego can't handle being abandoned in a stupid room because of a fuckin car theft." Renegade said.

"I am surprised." Batman said slowly.

"Now here are the three words you never imagine Batman to use."

"You haven't tried to run away." Batman said.

"I can still make some last minute arrangements if you want."

Batman couldn't help but smile under his cowl.

"And... You guys don't seem to be trying to kill me, at least not for now, so I decided to stay. I didn't have much of a choice anyway. I may not show it but the wounds on my shoulder and leg, they aren't damn accessories, they actually hurt." Renegade said.

Batman then remembered. Renegade could still feel pain, he was trained not to show it, that was all. And they haven't given him any painkillers for the wounds. He got up and walked to the table, returned with a small pill and a glass of water.

"What's this?" Renegade asked.

"Painkillers."

Renegade looked at the pills with suspicion for a second before slowly reaching out his hand and grabbing the pills and the glass. He swallowed the pills and drank the water.

Then he suddenly pulled the IV out of his arm and got up.

"You should be resting."

"I'll rest when I'm dead." Renegade said and took a step but stumbled because of the sudden pressure on his injured leg.

He then held on to the bed, regained his balance and walked to the door.

"See, totally fine." Renegade said and walked out of the room, Batman following him.
