Bruce smiled. Renegade was going to be a different kind of hero. Not good, not bad, different. And Bruce was going be there to watch his back.

Then suddenly Bruce saw Renegade tense. A second later he understood why. There was this feeling that Bruce hated, the feeling of someone watching them.

"Is it just me or-" Renegade started and Batman finished.

"Someone's watching us."

"You said the sidekick team was on a mission, right?" Renegade asked.

"They are."

Renegade had just opened his mouth to speak when an arrow passed three cm's away from his head.

"Yep, never mind, that answers all my questions."

"Who are you?" Batman asked in his usual gloomy tone.

Renegade turned to look at Bruce and saw that he had his bat costume and cowl on, holding a batarang.

"When did you- how- you weren't wearing that- what?" Renegade tried to ask, looking at the costume he was sure Bruce wasn't wearing three seconds ago.

Batman opened his mouth to answer but cut off when two more arrows came, aimed directly at Batman's and Renegade's heads.

Renegade easily dodged the arrow and Batman caught it on the air.

"Can it be the League?" Renegade asked looking at the vents and trying to notice their attacker.

"It is the League." Batman answered looking at the arrow he just caught.

"But not the League you're thinking of."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Renegade asked annoyed, did Batman really have to be this mysterious all the time?

"It's not the assassins." Batman said and showed Renegade the arrow.

Too little things surprised Renegade in this life. But this, this was definitely one of them.

"Well... shit."

A/N: Hey, you will probably pass this A/N without reading (that's what I would do at least) I know this is a short chapter and all. I just wanted to say I'm going to start writing an event that happened on Young Justice on my next chapter but I'm going to change it, like, a lot. And sorry for the late update btw.
