Mahigit isa' t kalahating oras na ang lumipas mula nang sumakay ako ng bus pero hanggang ngayon hindi parin ako nakaabot saking destinasyon. Napatingin ako sakin orasan for the nth time sabay huminga ng malalim. What should I do right now? Baka kanina pang nainip ang driver ng delivery truck dahil hindi parin ako nakarating.
Ilang sandali, biglang tumigil sa pag-andar ang bus kaya inakala kong nakaabot na ako sakin destinasyon but, sad to say may sumakay lang palang mga estudyante. I heaved a deep sigh once again habang iniinda ang iritasyon ko. What' s the matter with the time today? Hindi naman ganun ka-traffic ang daan tsaka mabilis naman ang pag-andar ng sasakyan . . .
I try to close my eyes while controlling my breathing process, kapag lumagpas na sa dalawang oras ang pagsakay ko ng bus ay bababa na talaga ako at sasakay nalang ako ng taxi para mas madali lang ang pagpunta ko sa bagong tinutuluyan kong apartment.
Nagpasya akong makinig nalang muna ng kanta sa earphones habang hinintay na lumipas ang kalahating oras.
"🎶With a low voice, slightly shaking with a fluttering heart. I went in front of you amd carefully say these words ...🎶"
I rest my head on the window as the chorus of the song began to play. I softly blinked my eyes when I noticed a girl sitting ahead of me habang nagmadali itong umupo.
"🎶Hi, hello. Every time I say hi to you, it makes my heart flutter. Hi, hello. As we exchange those words words, we' re starting our own sto—🎶"
Napadako ang mga mata ko saking paanan nang may nahulog na A4 size na notebook mula sakin inuupuan. I casually took it out and opened it, wondering what' s inside the notebook.
My eyes skimmed the whole page into another until I found out that this note was all about quadratic equation na may given formula. I faintly smiled at the idea na nahihirapan yata sa pagsagot ang may-ari nito.
I slightly lifted my head and saw the girl earlier sleeping soundly on the bus chair. Once again, I smiled faintly while staring at her back for a second then tried to solve the given problem for her.
Habang abala ako sa pagso-solve ng assignment niya, I suddenly heard a subtle noise mula sa bintana kaya napalingon ako ng sandali. And there, the time seems to stop leaping. I saw the girl' s head hitting the window of the bus repeatedly while she' s still asleep (base sa napansin ko.)
In a rush, I found myself blocking the window with the girl' s head now softly resting at my hand. I sighed deeply in relief at pinagpatuloy ang pagso-solve ko sa assignment.
Pagkatapos kong maisagot lahat ay ganun din ang pagtigil ng bus. Agad kong inalis ang aking kamay sa bintana nang biglang tumayo ang babae habang nakabukas pa ang backpack niya. Agad din akong napatayo at hinabol siya para mailagay ko sa bag niya ang nahulog na notebook.
Naging successful naman ang paglagay ko ng notebook when she completely went down the bus. I noticed that she' s wearing a highschool uniform from C.T.U. and the school attire really suited her except lang sa sinuot niyang asul na sapatos.
As the door of the bus slowly closed, biglang tumibok ng mabilis ang puso ko nang wala sa sariling lumingon sakin ang babae sabay ngumiti siya ng malapad sakin. I don' t know why she smiled at me but for some reason I found myself smiling back at her while softly waving my right hand towards her.
Surely and clearly magkikita rin kami ulit sa lalong madaling panahon.
