LACEY'S POV

Lacey listened to to Tara and Nicole talk about how their time with Korey and DJ went on Sunday.

"And he asked for my number!" Nicole shrieked.

"Korey asked for mine too! And he said he wants to hang out again!" Tara had a huge smile on her face.

"That's so awesome!" Nicole said.

Lacey couldn't help but be excited for them. Afterall, Korey and DJ were both great guys and her friends didn't deserve anything but the best. When the bell rang Lacey grabbed her stuff and rushed off to math class barely saying a goodbye to her friends. She couldn't wait to see Aaron. She still felt like maybe he was mad at her for what she had said to his dad. But all doubts were erased from her mind when she walked in to see Aaron waiting for her. He gave her his usual bright smile that made her weak at the knees.

"Good morning!" Aaron said to her as she sat down.

"Morning."

"Tell me how ready you are for this quiz we're having today."

Lacey gave a groan and frowned. "I am never ready for anything involving math. Don't you know that by now?"

"Yeah but I still like to see how you act when I bring it up."

Lacey stuck her tounge out at him. Temple started class and passed out the quizzes.

"This is all we are doing today so when you are done you may talk quietly." He winked at Lacey as he gave her the quiz.

Lacey tried so hard but the numbers could have been a foreign language for all that it mattered. Aaron finished within about 20 minutes. Lacey rolled her eyes. 'Stupid smart at math jock,' she thought to herself. Finally she decided that it didn't matter either way and she scribbled random answers. After she had finished she turned around to face Aaron.

"So how do you think you did?" he whisphered.

"Let's not talk about it."

"Ok we'll talk about something else. What are your plans tonight?"

"I have a date tonight," Lacey said giving Aaron a sideways glance. She almost laughed out loud at his expression. His eyes grew wide and he almost looked angry.

"Really? With who?"

"Joey, Chandler, and Ross." Lacey continued at Aaron's confused look. "You know from the tv show Friends?"

"Oh. You watch that show?"

"Heck yes! It's great! But I don't have anything else to do tonight so it looks like that is my plan. You?"

"Nothing. I have to stay home tonight. Dad's orders. I have a game tomorrow so I can't take a risk of staying out too late." Lacey noticed how Aaron had a sarcastic tone when he talked about his dad. She tried to ignore it. She changed the subject.

"So your first game, you excited?"

Aaron lit up. "I can't wait. Playing ball is just....it for me ya know. Like the way it feels to just let everything go. You don't have to worry about parents or school. There is no drama." Lacey had never seen Aaron talk about something so passionately before. As she was watching him talk she could tell that he wasn't even in math class anymore. He was thinking about being out on a court somewhere. She knew exactly how he felt. "When you're out there on the court you can just...just..."

"Be yourself..." Lacey finished for him. Aaron seemed to snap back into the real world. He looked at Lacey and gave her a grateful smile.

"Exactly." he said.
