Okay well I had more people tell me to keep it in 3rd person. So maybe just to clarify, its in 3rd person but when i say Aarons or Lacey's POV im just focusing on them and what they are thinking. Sorry if it's still confusing. If i get a lot of people who would rather i change it, i might consider it! Just let me know what you think!
LACEY'S POV
As soon as their eyes locked, Lacey felt her heart break. Aaron had ditched her to go out with Lauren. LAUREN! Of all people it had to be her. She was the one who had started this whole rumor in the first place. And Aaron had decided that he would rather be with her. Lacey turned to her friends and rushed them out of the door. She heard Aaron yelling for her but she wasn't about to stop. She didn't want to hear what his excuse would be. Honestly, she didn't think that she could take it. Lacey got them all out to the van quickly.
"Lacey why the rush?" Nicole asked her.
"I don't feel very good. I just want to get home."
"You do look kinda pale,"Tara said.
They all jumped in and took off. Lacey pulled out her phone and turned it off. If she knew Aaron he would be calling her soon. But she couldn't listen to him right now. As they were driving she leaned her head back against the seat and closed her eyes. She kept seeing the image of Aaron and Lauren's hands together. And the look on his face when their eyes had met. It was a look of total shock. Lacey also thought about what Aaron had said to her. He had told her that he didn't want to go out with her because of what people would think. She remembered how he had pulled her close in a hug. She had to admit he was one good actor. How could he do this?! Before she knew it they were pulling into Lacey's drive way.
"Thanks guys. I had a great time!" Lacey said putting on a fake smile.
"Yeah see ya on Monday!" Tristin yelled from the driver's seat.
Lacey pulled the door shut and walked into her house. She didn't even bother changing clothes. She curled up in bed. She wasn't ready for Monday to come. Monday meant that she would have to see Aaron. It meant that she would have to face him. She considered skipping but knew that if she didn't have to see him Monday she would have to at some point or another. As soon as her head hit the pillow she let the tears she'd been holding back fall. She didn't realize it at first, but she understood why she was crying. She was crying because she was in love with Aaron Matthews. And he obviously didn't love her back.

Lacey walked into school on Monday nervous. She knew that she'd see Aaron in math. So when she walked in and didn't see him, she felt a little relieved. She expected him to come in late but he never showed. Lacey couldn't help but to wonder where he was. Was he skipping just because of her? Would he go to those kinds of lengths to ignore her? When the bell rang to signal the end of class, Aaron still hadn't shown up. The day past in a kind of blur. Lacey couldn't help but wonder where Aaron was. She couldn't deny she was upset and hurt by him, but she still wondered. When she got home at the end of the day she crashed on her bed again. She reached around until she found her phone. She hadn't turned it on once during the rest of the weekend. She finally turned it on to see that she had three new voicemails. All of them were from Aaron. She listened to the first one.
"Lacey please answer your phone. Look this isn't what it looks like. Please let me explain everything. Please.....call me back."
Lacey could almost hear the pain in his voice. She tried to hold back the sudden tears that clouded her eyes but a few fell anyway. She went to the next one.
"Lace, I understand that you're upset and you have every right to be, but you have to let me explain. This isn't what it looked like. I'm not with Lauren and I don't want to be. Please call me back. Please..."
She went to the next one.
"Look Lace, I won't be able to answer my phone for the next couple days. I want to go see you but I don't think that you'd really want to see me anyway. I just want you to know that I am sorry for everything. I understand if you don't want to but I would love it if you called me. Hopefully I'll see you soon."
Lacey debated calling him but decided not too. She wasn't going to give in that easily. She rolled over. She couldn't deny that all she wanted was to call Aaron and to work everything out, but she knew that she couldn't do that. She closed her eyes and began to drift off to sleep.
When Lacey woke up it was to the sound of her phone going off. She looked at her bedside clock and saw that it was 1:30 in the morning. She coudln't believe that she'd slept that much. She picked up her phone to see that she had a new text message. It was from Aaron.
'R u up?'
She thought for a second. Did she want to respond? Did she really want to talk to him? Immeadiately she knew the answer; of course she did. But should she? She decided that she should.
'Yes'
'Can u plz meet me somewhere?'
Lacey kept looking at the phone. Now he wanted to meet her somewhere. Right now. She knew that if she went, there was a good chance that she would give into him. It was one thing to stay mad at Aaron when he wasn't around, it was another when she looked into his crystal blue eyes. She finally decided to answer him.
'Where?'
It didn't take him long to respond to her.
'The courts'
'Should I bring my shoes?' She thought that it was a legit question. It may be 1:30 in the morning but that didn't mean a pick up game wouldn't be going on.
'Of course :)' he said back to her.
Lacey sat up in bed and rubbed her eyes. She stretched before she stood and grabbed her things. She sent Aaron back a quick reply of 'On my way' before grabbing her keys and shoes. As Lacey drove into town she knew that it didn't matter that Aaron had hurt her. It didn't matter that he had lied to her. And it didn't matter that he had turned her down. Lacey finally realized that no matter what Aaron did to her, she would always be there for him if he needed her. Because that is what you do for someone that you love. And Lacey was head over heels in love with Aaron.
