The First Battle of Haven

Y/N POV

Artoria and I were being engulfed by a fire ball that Ana made.

Ana: Give it up! You can't win. I'll kill you both! Then Yuki is next

My eyes widen at what Ana said.

Y/N: You...will leave Yuki...ALONE!!!

I powered through the fireball that Ana threw at me and I ran at Ana with all my might. She looked shock. My fist was ready and as I punched her, she blocked it causing a shockwave around. She grabbed my by the collar of my jacket. And put her palm to my stomach.

Ana: Sayonara.

She made a fire ball that blasted right through me. She let go of my collar making me fall to my knees. She kicked me back to where Artoria was. Artoria kneeled down next to me.

Artoria: You're awful, Ana. Cinder is using you. Y/N is a threat to her, so she is using you, the strongest Maiden, to kill your own brother.

Emily pushed and kicked Mercury out of the way and right over to me.

Emily: Y/N!

She rested my head on her lap.

Ana: I won't. I can't stop, now. I'm saving them from suffering from Salem.

Emily: I won't let you hurt him. You'll have to get through me.

Ana: Emily?

I pushed myself up and I saw everyone getting tired. I saw Jaune and Amber on their knees as they were losing to Cinder. Cinder made a spear and walked away from them and aimed at someone else. I realized her intention as she threw her spear at Weiss.

Y/N: Weiss!

She looked at me, but as she did, the spear impaled her. She was shocked before looking down. The spear disappeared as she fell to the ground. I forced myself to stand and I ran towards Weiss. Jaune went by my side speechless at what happened. Ren came to us and kept a sign on her pulse

Ana: Cinder? She wasn't our target.

Cinder: All these fools will die eventually.

Amber ran behind her and swung at her. Cinder turned around and blocked with a sword she made

Amber: No!

Cinder pushed her back making Amber fall to the ground.

Jaune: I-I'm sorry, Y/N. There was nothing I could do.

Yuki ran towards us.

Yuki: Mom?!

Jaune kneeled down and put his hands on the wound the spear made.

Amber: What have you done, Cinder?!

Cinder: Why are you so mad, little girl? You almost killed Y/N several times.

Amber: I'm different, now.

Cinder: It's a shame, really. You could have ignored all this and stayed on our side. But no, you betrayed us and therefore, you'll have to die too.

Amber: I don't care if you're a Maiden. You won't win.

Amber charged at Cinder, but Emerald blocked it and started fighting Amber.

This gave Cinder the opportunity to get in the vault. Ana, Vernal, Raven, and Cinder entered the vault.

Jaune: This is my fault. I couldn't do anything to stop her.

Y/N: Nothing is your fault. Weiss, please, I don't care what happens to me, just love through this. I...l-love you.

Cinder: Make sure Ruby, Y/N, and the little girl lives.

After that, they all enter the vault. I looked up and I saw Oscar getting punched into a wall by Hazel. Hazel was about to kill Oscar, but Qrow got in the way and blocked it with him being knocked back in the process.

Ren: She's hardly breathing. I...I don't know what we can do...

I held Yuki close and she was crying in my chest.

Y/N: It wasn't supposed to be like this! Please! We can't lose anyone!

I looked down at Weiss and I saw Jaune's hands glowing over the Wound.

Y/N: Emily. Go and help with the fighting.

Emily nodded and entered the fray fighting Mercury with Yang.

Jaune: Huh? Wha-what's happening?

Ruby regained consciousness and ran towards us.

Ruby: Wbat happened?! What's going on?!

I think she's going to be okay. She's seems to be stabilizing.

Yuki heard this and looked back towards Weiss with teary eyes.

Y/N: Jaune. Whatever you're doing, don't stop.

Jaune: I won't.

Y/N: Good. Oscars needs help.

Ren: I'm on it.

Y/N: Jaune and Weiss need cover.

Nora: No one's gonna touch 'em.

Y/N: Okay. Everyone fulfill your role!

Everyone: Right?!

Ruby went to help her fight Emerald as Ren went to fight Hazel with Oscar.

Yang: Lets do this, Emily.

Emily: Not the first time we fought together.

Ana POV

We saw the vault that Vernal went right in front of.

Cinder: Having fun?

Raven: Vernal, stay focused.

Cinder: Oh, come now, Raven, let her enjoy this. It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Vernal: How does this work?

Cinder: Once the Spring Maiden places her hand on the door,...it will open. For you...and only you. Then I will walk into the vault, and retrieve the Relic. No one else. Is that clear?

Vernal: Yes.

Raven: it doesn't matter to us. Let's get this over with.

Cinder: Alright then. Vernal, when you're ready.

Vernal walked forward.

Cinder: You know, I've heard so many stories about you, Raven. They say you're a cunning leader, that you're strong, that you're clever. It's a shame that they're wrong...

Raven: Vernal!

Cinder froze Raven and fired a ice ball at me, but I dodged it, but I was too late to attack as she shot a Grimm hand at Vernal impales her.

Ana: Cinder?! What did you do?!

I threw a fireball at Raven melting the ice as she broke out of it. But before she broke out Vernal was already killed and Cinder was confused as to why she didn't get the Maiden powers.

Cinder: What's this? Where's the power?!

Raven: You won't find it, because Vernal isn't the Spring Maiden...I am!
