Jay has been sick for three days now, probably loved the whole thing. I know what Rory's like, add in the fact that she's been in love with him from the day she met him I knew she was probably waiting on him hand and foot. She gave Shawn and me attitude for those three days, and I couldn't figure out why or at least, at first I couldn't. It didn't take long to find out that she had a long talk with Lacey, made it clear that she wouldn't be pulling our weight anymore. That morning we had found out that she had demanded a fair rotation of the classes since we were all trained now, and Lacey had agreed hence the beginning of a new schedule.

Shawn and I are sitting in the staff room looking over the new schedule. Rory conveniently isn't here, she's at Fablehaven but Jay's back and somewhat more refreshed. He's still sniffling but obviously Rory did a good job of taking care of him.

"That the new schedule?" he asks and then takes it from Shawn before he can stop him. He looks it over and scowls at it, even he has a few classes to teach. Jay hates teaching and kids so that should be fun to watch.

"What the hell has gotten into her? I mean seriously? Why is she messing with things now?" Shawn snaps. He's really angry about this, and I am too but I think I know why this is happening now.

"Probably because she's tired of doing all the work," Jay says absently. He's now going through the brochure probably to read about the classes he's going to be teaching starting next week.

Shawn's scowling still but I nod. I had a feeling that was what it was about. I hadn't ever told the others, but on Rory's dark days, when her stress levels hit maximum or Jay was particularly uncouth with her she'd tell me how she felt about being the lowest on the totem pole. How even though she was the lowest it didn't make sense that she did all the work and classes and permits. Usually I talked her down, but I guess she had one of her dark days with Jay and no one was there to keep her from deciding to stand up for herself.

"What work? I mean she only took one of your shifts then she took two days off to take care of you!" Shawn cries. Now Jay's looking at him surprised. "She only went to her Fablehaven permit and she refused to work any extra hours for me yesterday."

Jay shakes his head. "She wasn't with me yesterday, not all day," he says. "She went to her Fablehaven permit and didn't come back until late. She said she was working for you."

Shawn and Jay are obviously confused. I am not however. "Never mind that. If she doesn't come home today call me okay?"

Jay nods. He goes off with Shawn the pool is already open and the two new guards we had on deck aren't there anymore. They're probably going to scare the crap out of them but I couldn't care less. New guards always needed a little bit of scaring to get them working right. I'm more worried about Rory and whether or not I'm right.

I worry about her all through the day. That means snapping at the patrons asking me stupid questions and arguing with them when they've got the idea wrong. Whoever said: "The Customer is always right" is a piece of shit and if I could I'd kick him in the nuts. 99% of the time the customer has no idea what they're talking about and is sure to tell you how wrong you are. You have no idea how often I want to tell them off, to tell that they're crazy and that I expect an apology. Granted I usually do get an apology when I prove them wrong but sometimes we get some giant douchebags who just get angry that they were wrong and storm off.
