"Okay, no one is allowed to sleep in Augusta's room. Shit is too creepy," said Corey."I second that," Sam said.
"Okay, so there's two living rooms with three couches in one and two couches in the other. There's Ed's room, which I don't think we should sleep in either, and his brother's room, then a guest room," I reported.
"He had a brother?" asked Corey.
"Yup," I said.
"What happened to him?" asked Jake.
"Please say he moved out when he turned eighteen, lived a normal life, and then died of old age," said Kevin.
"Nope," I said.
"Of course not," said Reggie.
"Well, let's hear it," Devyn sighed.
"His brother's name was Henry," I started.
"What is it with creepy people and that name?" asked Corey.
"No, Henry wasn't creepy. He noticed Ed's weird obsession with their mom and kept commenting on it. Then he died in this mysterious barn fire. They never figured out who started it, but I think it's safe to say that it was Ed," I explained.
"Jesus fuck," Tara said..
"I call one of the couches, then," Kat said.
"I'll take upstairs. The guest room," Kevin said.
"Then you're sharing with Reggie because it's unfair for one person to take up an entire bed," said Sam.
"Fine," said Kevin.
"I call a couch, too," said Sam.
"So do we," Jake said, putting his hand around Tara's waist.
"I think we all know that I'm taking a couch. And so is Devyn," said Corey.
"That's six couches. There's only five," said Reggie.
"Tara and I can share if we get the big one," said Jake.
"I guess that leaves us with Henry's room," Colby said, slinging his arm around my shoulder.
"Wonderful," I muttered.
"Hey, there's always the car," said Colby.
"Ehh, Henry's room it is," I said.
"You guys ready to go to bed now?" asked Kevin.
"I am," I said. Everyone else agreed, except for Jake, but he didn't have much else to do if he didn't go to sleep like the rest of us were going to.
We all went to where we were going to sleep, Colby and I leading the way up the stairs with Reggie and Kevin behind us.
"Oh, shit," Colby said when we saw that we hadn't retaped the caution tape. Colby lunged over and hung it back up.
"Don't go in there," I said.
"Or that one," Colby said, pointing at the room across the hall.
"Don't have to tell me twice," Reggie said.
"That's the guest room right there," I said, pointing at the room down the second hallway. "And Henry's is across the hall."
"Sick. Goodnight, you guys," Kevin said.
"Night," Colby and I said. We went into Henry's room, shutting the door behind us.
"This is sort of terrifying," I said.
"It's okay, we're not alone," Colby said. I wish that made me feel better. "Do you want to sleep in my robe? I'm guessing a leather bodysuit thingy isn't very comfortable."
"Yes please," I said. I took off my costume and changed into the robe, then hesitantly climbed into the bed next to Colby. I snuggled up against him, feeling a little bit better to have his arms around me.
"Goodnight, baby," Colby whispered, giving me a kiss.
"Goodnight," I whispered back.
