We pulled up to Walgreens after finishing breakfast to get the rest of what we needed for our Halloween costumes.

"Okay, I need blue and pink hairspray," said Tara.

"I need blonde and a curling iron," said Kat.

"I brought a curling iron," said Devyn.

"Perfect," said Kat. We all split up to get our stuff, me going with Devyn to get some white highlight and white eyeliner. We met back up at the checkout counter, my phone ringing while we waited in line.

I took my phone out of my hoodie pocket to see Colby's name on my screen.

"Good morning, babe," I said.

"Ness? Are you okay? Where did you go?" he asked.

"Oh! I'm fine, the girls and I went out for breakfast and to get the rest of the stuff for our costumes. We texted Sam about it, we figured he'd wake up first," I said.

"Oh, thank god. You scared me," he said.

"I'm okay. You worry a lot, you know that?" I asked.

"I care about you a lot, you know that?" he retorted.

"Yes, I do know that. I'm sorry, I'll text you next time," I said.

"No, don't apologize. You're just out doing your thing. I think I was just a little freaked out when I woke up and saw that your shoes and wallet were here but you weren't," he said.

"I brought so, so many shoes. And I brought my card in my phone case," I said.

"Oh. Right," he said. "Okay, sorry to bother you. Have fun. I think we want to leave around noon."

"Okay, perfect. I should probably be back before then. It's barely even ten," I said.

"Alright. I love you," he said.

"I love you too. Bye," I said.

"Bye," he replied.

"God, you softened that boy up," Devyn said from beside me. She'd probably heard the entire conversation.

"I try," I said sarcastically. We all checked out and made it back to the car after stopping to take a selfie with a fan in the parking lot.

"Okay, I need shoes, too," said Tara.

"Yup," said Kat.

"We all do," I said.

"We drove past a DSW on the way, let's stop there," said Devyn. We drove about ten minutes before pulling up to the store. We walked toward the door, but Tara froze before we could get inside.

"What's wrong?" Kat asked. Tara didn't say anything, just pointed at the window. We all turned to the giant sign hanging in the window.

"No way!" said Devyn.

"That's so fucking cool," I said. There was a giant sign that said 'Now selling YummyWolf Platforms!'.

"I still can't believe you and Xepher started a platform shoe brand. That's so you," Kat laughed.

"And I can't believe it's important enough to be advertised on a giant poster," said Tara.
