Walking back into the Traphouse to see everyone excitedly rush toward me was one of the happiest feelings of my life.
I took a long shower and changed into some shorts and one of Colby's t-shirts. His clothes would always be superior to mine.
"Nessa! Come here!" I heard Sam call from downstairs.
"Coming!" I called. I ran my fingers through my wet hair and ran down the stairs, into the living room where I saw the Traphouse and Krachouse all settled on the couches.
"Come see this," Colby said, waving me over. I sat down next to him, but he pulled me onto his lap as Sam pressed play.
"Is this—,"
"Yes, now hush," Jake said.
"Welcome back to the newest episode of YouTuber news. Our next story is quite possibly the biggest that has happened in the last several years. Social media persona and star Vanessa Atkins was reportedly released from the hospital today following a vicious attack. There is a lot of media speculation as to what actually happened to her, but we've respected her wishes to not pry.
"After enduring seven weeks in the ICU, four in Wisconsin and three here in LA, as well as three separate surgeries and recovering from what I'd say is safe to call some serious emotional trauma, she is back and better than ever. Here's a clip a fan sent in earlier today of Vanessa and her boyfriend Colby Brock leaving the hospital."
Sam paused the video.
"Well, you're officially more famous than any of us," said Corey.
"We've never been on YouTuber news," said Jake.
"Jesus, that was so weird to see," I said. These videos got millions of views and their channel had millions of subscribers, and I was important enough to them for an entire segment on their show.
Suddenly, my phone started going off.
"What the—," I muttered. I looked down to see notifications flooding in faster than I could read them. They were all from YouTube. I unlocked my phone and just about pissed myself when I saw that I was at 3.7 million subscribers.
"What! No fucking fair! I just hit 3.5 and you haven't even posted in months!" exclaimed Jake.
"The people love a good dramatic near death experience," Aryia said.
"Hey, are we still doing pizza night tomorrow?" asked Cassie.
"I don't know, Nessa, are you down?" asked Sam.
"Me? Of course I am! Can we invite Mike and Brennen, too? I haven't seen them in forever," I said.
"Of course, whoever you want," said Sam.
"Hey, can I borrow your camera, babe?" I asked, turning to Colby.
"Sure. What for?" he asked.
"I think I should film a story time video," I said.
"Do it. We don't even know what happened," said Reggie.
"I'm not sure I do either, but I'll try my best to explain it," I said.
"Yeah, let's go get it all set up," Colby said. We made our way upstairs and Colby set up the camera in our filming room, then pushed record. "Alright baby, I'll be downstairs if you need anything, okay?"
