"Hazel! Over here!" I exclaimed. Hazel saw me and smiled as she headed over to where I was sitting. Hazel and I were best friends, had been since she arrived in December. We had tests coming up, but we still talked most of the time, instead of studying.
"Kat! I didn't see you!" Hazel said. I scooted over and patted the seat next to me.
"Come on, I said, "before the Populars come over." The Populars were a group of girls who were completely fake, from their hair to their eyebrows to their clothes. They were pretty mean, especially to girls who were dating the guys that they had "claimed".
And Hazel was one of them. Hazel was dating a senior named Frank, who one of the Populars, I think her name was Samantha or something, "claimed". I know, I hate her too. The leader of their group was a girl named Daphne, who was dating a guy named Mark. Daphne still flirted with another guy named Jason, and Mark, well, he'd tried to flirt with Reyna. Yep, head of the Debate Team and the captain of the fencing team. Let's just say that that had not gone well for him.
"Hey guys!" another girl walked over. I think she was Hazel's other friend , Piper.
"Piper? What are you doing here?" Hazel asked.
"Well," Piper started "Ms. Clark let us out early, and I wanted to come see you. Plus, I'm hungry! Like, who puts lunch at 10 in the morning?" Hazel laughs.
"Oh! This is my friend Kat. Kat, this is Piper."
"I think you've mentioned her a few times," I say thoughtfully "But it's nice to finally meet you."
"Same," Piper grinned "But if you'll excuse me, I need food."
"She seems nice," I said.
"She is," Hazel told me "Until someone messes with her friends."
"Speaking of messing with her friends," I say, the smile melting off my face "Here come the Populars."
"Well, if it isn't little Hazel," one of them (Samantha?)said as she walked over to our table. "Where's your boyfriend, sweetie?" Hazel glared.
"I'm right here actually," a male voice sounded from the door. I looked over. Standing by the door was a tall, buff, Asian - looking guy.
"Frank!" Hazel squealed, and ran up to hug him. Ah, he must be the boyfriend. Hazel had told me about him, but I had never actually seen him. "What are you doing here?"
"Didn't Piper tell you? Ms. Clark let us out early. I had to talk to Reyna before I came here. About uh-" He glanced over at me "camp." Hazel smiled at him, before realizing that Samantha was still there.
"Frank," she said, with a syrupy sweet smile. "Great to see you."
"Wait," he said "Do I know you?"
"Of course," Samantha replied, "I'm your girlfriend."
"Um, what?" Frank said "You're not my girlfriend. Hazel is my girlfriend."
"Well, you could obviously do better. I mean, come on."
"Come on, Haze," Frank said "We should go."
"It's the middle of the day," I pointed out.
"Right." Frank said, scratching the back of his neck, "I forgot about that." He was cute. I could see why Hazel liked him so much.
"Okay," I said to Samantha, who looked offended. "May I kindly ask you to leave?" She huffed.
"Whatever," she whirled around and stalked away, mumbling something about 'being too good for us' or something. Piper came back and slammed her tray onto the table.
"What'd I miss?"
A/N Another update! I figured that would do Frazel, since I haven't done them yet. Hope you enjoyed!
Bye for now (I really need something to call you guys) :)
