-"Did you just say you're not going to the doctor?" Jisung questioned. "Why?"
You looked up from the case file and at him. "I'm okay, that's why. It's not even bad."
He gave you a look and you shrugged, getting up from your chair. You got a bit light headed, but you shrugged it off.
"Why did Taejun want the camera off?" Jeongin asked.
"Uh," you mumbled, blinking a few times. "He had to tell me something, but I-"
"You what?" Minho asked.
You gulped. "I recorded our conversation."
You were starting to see double, you were losing your balance, and you were having a hard time breathing. You grabbed onto Jisung's shirt and he immediately pulled you to his side. Everyone circled around both of you, and Jeanne and Jinx had woken up. As you went into unconsciousness, Jisung held you up.
"Y/N! Y/N, hang on. Someone call an ambulance!" Jisung panicked. "Come on, Y/N. Hang on."
You went completely limp in his arms and he lost his voice as tears sprung into his eyes. He kept checking your breathing and checking your pulse, but both of them were dangerously close to stopping. He held you in his arms the whole time they were waiting for the paramedics. They loaded you onto a stretcher and took you down to the ground floor, where everyone followed you and watched you get loaded onto the ambulance.
The first thing they did was hook you up to their machines, and almost immediately, it made a long single beeping noise. You flatlined.
"No! No, please save her! She can't die!" Jisung cried. "Please!"
Blade ran out of the entrance and stopped in her tracks, seeing you lying in the ambulance. The paramedics cut your shirt open and saw the burn, looking at each other. The boys saw the burn for the first time, in all its intensity and bareness. It didn't look good.
"Let's defibrillate her."
They did the first defibrillation, your chest coming up with the shock. You were unresponsive.
"So many people need you right now, Y/N."
They did a second defibrillation. Jisung held his hair down, waiting anxiously for you to respond to the shocks.
"We've had this talk, Y/N. I didn't raise you to give up. Everyone's counting on you to wake up. Don't go like this."
The third defibrillation was the charm. Your heart started beating again, and you were on your way to the hospital. Everyone almost tripped over themselves to get to their cars.
But Jisung couldn't stop hearing you flatline. He couldn't stop seeing you being so unresponsive. He couldn't stop imagining what would have happened if your heart didn't start beating again.
It was raining when you came to. You blinked a few times, hyper aware of the beeping noises, the quiet snoring and the hand in yours. You slowly looked over to see Jisung, sleeping peacefully. He was sitting in a chair, but his head was by your torso, a pillow underneath him. You smiled and reached over with all the power left in your body to play with his hair.
Your eyes glossed over with tears, him being there was just enough to make your greatest fears go away. The fear of him being gone, the fear of you being gone, the fear of looking death in the face, the fear of the unknown and the upcoming.
At the feeling of you playing with his hair, Jisung slowly lifted his head and looked at you, a beautiful, grateful smile falling over his features. He bit his lip to suppress a sob as he cupped your cheek, with the most gentle touch you had ever felt in your life.
"How long?" You whispered.
The sound of your voice, the raspy brokenness and all, had Jisung crying. "Four days."
"You've been here this whole time?"
He nodded, his thumb gliding across your cheek. "The others are here too, they're just eating."
"And you're not?" You questioned, coughing at the dryness of your throat.
At this, Jisung reached over to the table by your bed and grabbed a water bottle. He opened it for you, gently holding your jaw to help you take a drink.
"I didn't want to go anywhere." He whispered. "I wanted to be here when you woke up."
He stared at you for a moment, taking everything in. How glad he was to see you alive, how nice it was to hear your voice and see some color in your skin.
"I don't think I've ever told you how grateful I am for you, Ji. Really."
"You don't have to tell me." He smiled. "I already know."
The door opened and it looked like a movie where everyone looked over one another's head to see into the room. You laughed as they all surrounded you and Jinx jumped up on your bed.
"We're so glad you're awake!" Minho exclaimed. "I can't believe we weren't in here."
"You couldn't pay Jisung to move. That's how dedicated he was." Changbin informed.
You smiled and took a deep breath. "I am sick and tired of hospitals."
"I can imagine." Doctor Lee said as she walked into the room.
You sat up some more and looked at her. "Hi, Doctor Lee. Why are you here?"
"The hospital called me. Told me you were back home. I wanted to visit." She told you.
"But there's something you need to tell me?"
She nodded and sat on the edge of your bed. "You have a hearing coming up. They're questioning your ability to be an agent."
You nodded. "Thank you for telling me. Why didn't Changmin tell me?"
"We found out a couple days ago. He found out I was going to visit when you woke up and asked me to pass along the message." She replied. "If your hearing goes well, Yongin will dismiss the incident."
"Yongin? As in Yongin Mental Hospital?" Jisung questioned.
"I'll," you paused. "I'll tell you when I get released."
"Oh, Y/N." Jeanne sounded. "Guess what?"
"What?"
"Everyone helped me track down my parents, and they got on the first flight to come get me." She told you. "I'm going home."
You smiled and patted her arm. "That's great, Jeanne. I'm glad you'll be home again."
She smiled back. "I wouldn't be here without your help, so thank you."
You nodded in response as the doctor came in, smiling at you. "I'm glad to see everybody catching up. Y/N is free to go after some paperwork."
