Chapter 11 

“Can’t you see that I don’t want this Adrianna?” Aaron yelled at me. “What do you mean?” “What I mean is that I don’t want to be a dad right now.” “So you want me to have an abortion? Is that what you’re saying?” My eyes were already filled with tears and I didn’t even try to take them away. “Yes something like that.”

“Something like that? It’s a human being growing inside of me and you want me to kill it?” I started throwing things at him. “But Adrianna, you need to understand that I can’t deal with something like this now.” “Not everything is about you Aaron.” As I kept yelling at him he moved closer to me. I pushed him away. “I don’t want you here right now” I said walking away from him. “Adrianna, I need you.” Aaron grabbed my arm and pulled me close to him. I started screaming at him, telling him to let me go but he wouldn’t. I used all my strength but couldn’t get lose from his grip. “Let me go!” “Adrianna, you need to wake up.”

I opened my eyes. Aaron sat beside me. “Having a bad dream again?” he asked. I laid back and hid my face with my hands. “Yes, how did you know?” Aaron laid down beside me. “You were kicking me in the back and screaming that I had to leave.” “Oh, I’m so sorry.” “It’s okay, just try to get back to sleep.” I crawled up in his arms and slowly fell asleep again.

Aaron’s POV
“Sleepyhead. Wake up” I said as I walked into the bedroom. Adrianna was still in bed covered by pillows and the duvet. I sat down next to her taking away the duvet. Adrianna mumbled something but I couldn’t hear what she said. “You’re adorable when you sleep, you know that?” She turned around and looked at me. “You watch me sleep?” “No I don’t. That would be creepy, but you’re almost sleeping now?” I chuckled. “That’s right” she said smiling. “Just give me five more minutes please?” “I’ll give you ten, but you have to be in the kitchen by then.” “Thank you” I heard her say as I left the bedroom

Adrianna’s POV
“Can we drop by Jack and Julie before we leave?” “Yes, of course. Why?” Aaron asked. “I got some Christmas presents for them” I said grabbing my coat. Aaron put his jacket on and grabbed the car keys. He locked up the apartment and we walked towards the car. “How long does it take to drive to Caerphilly actually?” “About 3 hours.” “That’s not much.” Aaron smiled and put the bags in the back of the car.

It was freezing cold outside and I started shaking. “I told you to put your coat on” Aaron chuckled. “Always the smart one” I teased him. The door opened and Julie was there, surprised. “I didn’t expect you here today. I thought you two were leaving.” “We are, just had some presents to drop off first” I said to Julie handing over the bag I had in my hand. We walked inside. Jack and Julie’s apartment was nicely decorated with Christmas decorations. “Where’s Jack?” Aaron asked Julie. “He’s in the living room with Archie.” As she said that we heard Jack speaking. We were on our way into the living room when Julie stopped us. “Can you please tell him about the baby? I really can’t keep it a secret anymore.” “We’ll tell him now.” Aaron said grabbing my hand smiling.

Jack played FIFA with Archie on his lap when we entered the living room. “Teaching him early?” Aaron joked. “He’s already better then you” Jack chuckled. “I bet your dogs can beat Aaron on FIFA” I said and Jack laughed. I grabbed Archie from Jacks lap and sat down in the sofa opposite from Jack. Aaron sat down next to me, so close I breathed in the smell which felt so familiar. I played with Archie before he started to crawl all over me and over to Aaron. “I bet you 5£ that ours will be cuter than Archie.” I said to Aaron. “No one is cuter than… Wait, what did you say?” Jack paused the game and turned around facing us. “So you’re saying you’re pregnant?” “That’s right Jack” Julie said entering the room and sitting down next to him. “You’re not joking with me know, because that wouldn’t be funny at all.” “No, I really am pregnant” I said.

“That’s great. Congratulations.” “Thanks” Aaron said. “I told you he would react like this Adrianna” Julie said. Jack turned around to Julie. “Wait you knew about this and didn’t tell me?” “Yes, but I couldn’t tell. I promised Adrianna and I didn’t want you to run around at the Christmas party telling everyone.” “I would never have done that.” “Sure you wouldn’t” Julie said with a sarcastic tone. Archie made some funny noises and started to call on daddy. “You’re turn” Julie said pointing at Jack and before Aaron and I understood what just had happened we could smell it. “Aaron should do it. He needs some training” Jack laughed. “Actually we have to go if we want to make it to the Christmas dinner tonight.” “Perfect excuse” Jack said taking Archie away from Aaron.

We arrived in Caerphilly 3 hours later after we left Jack and Julie’s place. The snow had lain down on the ground as a white blanket and the snow sparkled in the wind. I buttoned up my coat and got out of the car. Aaron had already grabbed the bags and was headed towards the front door. “Hey, wait for me.” He turned around and smiled at me.

We got inside and Aaron shouted something in welsh. I looked at him with a question on my face. “I just said hello” he said. “It’s not funny when you talk Welsh because I don’t understand you” I said pouting my lower lip. “Neither do I when you talk to Julie in Norwegian” he said and kissed me. Kevin and Marlene came into the hall and Marlene immediately hugged Aaron saying something to him in Welsh. She turned around to me. “So you’re Adrianna?” And before I got the chance to say anything she hugged me. I looked at Aaron over my shoulder and he spelled hugger with his lips. “It’s so nice to meet you. Aaron has told us so much about you” she said. “Oh, he has?” I said smiling looking at Aaron who smiled shy back. “Aaron can take the bags up stairs. We have so much to talk about” Marlene said and followed me into the living room. I looked at Aaron with a worried look, did he tell his mother about the baby?

 “Merry Christmas cariad” Aaron whispered into my ear. I turned around facing him. “And merry Christmas to you” I said kissing him. “I got you a present” he said. I sat up in bed folding the duvet around me.  Aaron handed over a little red but long squared box. I took the bow off and opened the lid, inside the box where a sterling silver necklace with a pearl. “It’s gorgeous. Thank you” I said smiling, I took it out of the box and handed it over to him while turning around. I felt his warm hands as he attached the necklace. He kissed me on my neck and I turned around to Aaron. “You like it?” “I love it. Thank you. ” “You have already given me the best present” he said looking down at my stomach. Seconds after he mentioned the baby the pain ran through my stomach. I immediately laid my hand on it but I knew my face told him that something was wrong. “Are you alright?” he asked nervously. “Yes, it’s just my muscles stretching to make room for the baby.” “So everything is fine?” he asked. “Yes, don’t worry” I said looking at him to see him smile.

I got out of bed to get dressed when my phone buzzed at the nightstand next to the bed. “Can you see who it’s from?” Aaron rolled over at the other side of the bed and looked at it. “It’s from Julie.” “See what she said.” “She wrote that Archie loves his new shoes he got and it’s a video.” I sat down next to him on the bed and pressed play on the video. It was Archie walking from Jack and towards the camera before he fell on his bum and laughed. “Aww, he’s adorable” I said and Aaron looked at me. “I can’t wait for our baby to walk.” “Me too” I said and kissed him.

“Oh, I almost forgot. I got one more present for you” Aaron said. “Nothing can be better than the necklace Aaron.” “I’m sure it can. So just close your eyes and give me your hand.” I did what he asked me to do and I felt a cold light and sharp thing in my hand. “It’s a mini knife. Isn’t it?” I chuckled and I could hear Aaron laugh. “Open your eyes.” I opened them and saw that he had given me a key. “A key?” I asked him smiling. “I love you and since we’re having a baby I thought it would be better that…” and before he could finish the sentence I kissed him.
