TW: Mention of suicideZak POV
How did I manage to get myself into this mess?
I'm sitting at a party that my friend, Finn, hosted. I don't even know why I decided to come, I knew I would have no fun anyway.
Stupid peer pressure.
I shouldn't have come.
The music was blasting in my ears as I groaned, shoving my head into my hands. Everyone was screaming and jumping, it's too loud for me. I stood up and maneuvered my way through the crowd of people. I reached the back door and opened it, stepping outside.
I shut the door behind me, relieved. I looked around, and to my surprise, no one was in the backyard. I walked farther away from the house and spotted a few chairs next to each other. I sat down and sighed, I can't wait to leave this place.
I pulled out my phone, deciding there was nothing else to do.
Darryl POV
Oh my goodness, I can't take this anymore.
My friend Vincent dragged me to this party saying it would be 'fun.' But it doesn't seem very fun to me. Everything was so loud and it reeked of alcohol.
"I'll be outside if you need me." I shouted to Vincent, walking away.
He nodded at me, smiling. I sighed and turned away, walking to the back door. I would've went to the front but too many people were there. I opened the door, thankful for the fresh air.
No one seemed to be out here, which is quite surprising. I looked around a spotted one person sitting near the back. He was just sitting there with his phone out, looking upset.
I frowned, walking over to him, "Hi."
He glanced up at me, looking confused, "What do you want?"
"That's not very nice." I replied, sitting next to him.
"I don't want to have a conversation with some drunk dude." He replied, looking back at his phone.
"I'm not drunk, you muffin." I said.
He looked back at me, "I don't care, just go away."
"What's wrong?" I asked him.
"What do you mean?" He asked, "I'm fine."
"You look upset." I said.
"Well I'm not." He replied, "I don't even know you."
"Okay then, hi." I said, "I'm Darryl, what's your name?"
"Zak." He replied, seeming uninterested.
"See, now we know each other." I exclaimed.
He rolled his eyes, but I saw him smile slightly, "Now tell me what's wrong, why aren't you in there with everyone else?"
"I just don't want to." He replied.
"Come on Zak, I know that's not why." I said, "It'll make you feel better if you tell me."
"Fine." He replied, turning off his phone, "Promise you won't think it's stupid?"
"Promise." I replied, giving him a reassuring smile.
"Okay so, I had a best friend, his name was Zelk." He started, "His dad was a big drinker so he never liked that stuff, parties too."
I nodded, signaling for him to continue.
"He had some problems at home, but I would always help him through it." Zak said, "He was a really great person."
"Where is he now?" I asked.
Zak glanced down, and I noticed tears form in his eyes, "He killed himself 9 months ago.
"I just wish he left a note."
"Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry Zak." I said, trying to comfort him.
"No, it's okay." He replied, "I shouldn't be telling you this."
"It's okay to talk about your feelings." I said, "It's good that you told me."
He gave me a small smile, "Thanks Darryl."
I grabbed his hand and smiling as we sat in a comfortable silence.
Okay, I can't tell if this is good or not-
