Hi welcome to my first post in 2 months. So this is part 2 of Alone, the good ending. The beginning is copy pasted, soo that's all, enjoy!
TW: Suicide attempt
Darryl POV
I work as 911 dispatcher in my city, I just started working around a month ago and it's gone pretty well. I haven't gotten calls about anything too bad yet.
I had just finished a call with a woman who said her child had gone missing. Luckily, he just wandered off and she ended up finding him. I sat down waiting for the next call.
Another call came in and I quickly picked up, "911 what's your emergency?"
I heard nothing but silence from the other end, I repeated the question and still no one answered. I sighed, feeling annoyed.
Probably just a prank call.
Believe it or not, we actually get prank calls very often, so it's not an uncommon thing. I was about to hang up, but I suddenly heard a sob from someone.
"Hello?" I asked, hoping for a response."There's been a suicide." I heard someone say, they sounded a few years younger than me.
All my annoyance faded, "And who's the victim?" I asked, staying professional.
"I am."
I typed quickly, sending information to the officers.
"Stay on the call with me, okay?" I said.
There was no reply as I tried to track the person's location.
"Hello, are you still there?" I repeated.
"I-I can't stay, I have to go before it's too late." They muttered, their voice shaking.
"No, it's okay, things will get better, if you just hold on a little longer and let us help you, everything will be okay in the end." I replied, trying to comfort him, officers now on the way to his house. I was able to track his location and see that he was only a few minutes from the station.
"It won't, it won't get better, I have to do this." He cried, seeming to get more upset.
"Please, it always gets better, there's always hope." I reassured him.
"Not this time."
I heard sirens from the other end of the call, the person beginning to panic, "Oh my god, they're here, I ruined my chance."
"It's okay." I mumbled, relief flooding me, "Everything will be okay."
*woosh*
A few days have passed since what happened. I was able to meet the person I was on the phone with. His name is Zak Ahmed, he's 20 years old, and he works as a youtuber. We were able to help him by putting him in therapy while he also told his loved ones about what happened.
We actually stayed I touch, he said he wanted to give me his number, as a thank you for helping him. Even now, I still feel so much happiness whenever I think about it, I'm just happy I was able to help.
Hopefully now I can help him get to a better place in life and it will all be worth it.
