"Hi! Hi!" the man came their way when the woman stayed next to the car.
"This here is privet property," said Taeil, his tone truing unpleasant.
"I'm sorry. Didn't notice the sign," said the man. "I'm looking for a guy called, wait..." he took a piece of paper out of his pocket. "Taeil, yes," he read out.
"That's me. What do you want?" Taeil tensed.
"The guy down the harbor told me you're doing trips through the east side of the lake, it's my daughter's birthday, I promised her a thrilling experience," said the man pointing at the young woman.
"Maybe next time," muttered Taeil.
"Please, it's her birthday. I want to make it special. I can pay as much as you like," begged the man.
Taeil started to rub his neck thinking hard, he glanced at Yuta who just shrugged.
"We can do one small circle," muttered Taeil. "Do you have life vests?" he turned to the man.
"Yes, I've got some from Mr. Kim," the man walked to the car, opened the trunk taking the vests out, giving one to the girl.
"Kid take the one that is hanging in the lake house," said Taeil.
"But..." Yuta looked at him.
"It's the most dangerous part of the lake, I need to be sure you're safe," muttered Taeil so Yuta walked back then took the old life vest Taeil was keeping in the house tying it up over his sweatshirt.
He left his shoes on the pier then followed Taeil while the man and the girl climbed into to back of the boat, both seemed very excited.
"We will take beautiful photos!" the girl pointed at a big camera hanging around her neck.
"Why are you taking them?" asked Yuta quietly when Taeil was untying the rope.
"I'll have more money for Paris," Taeil smiled before jumping into the boat when Yuta pulled the rope inside rolling it up on the floor.
He sat on the back bench, the the man took one in the middle and the girl was right opposite to him taking a lot of photos.
The motor howled, the wind and speed made Yuta excited, he stopped to care about the strangers when he was watching the glittering lake, the high sun and the sail boats far down the harbor. Taeil was speeding 'Ella' up so much, when the two tourists began to compliment him on his boat and leading skills.
It was getting warmer, the sun reaching the peak until it was covered by a mountain shade and the boat moved into the cooler region of the mountain-wall. Taeil slowed it down telling them about each mountain and the history of the lake, both tourists smiling to each of his words while Yuta closed his eyes simply enjoying. He wished Sicheng could be here, cuddle to him in the sweet breeze.
The air was so fresh, the boat moving slowly and smoothly. Yuta opened his eyes looking at the tourists to see that the man had gotten up and was walking towards Taeil when the girl stretched her hand towards a puddle that was leaned against the bench. Yuta felt all his insides tightening when he saw an edge of a gun sticking out of the man's shorts, while the girl moved her fingers inches closer to the puddle when he reacted grabbing it's end pulling it to himself. The girl was so shocked for a few seconds, when he tightened his grip on the puddle, hitting her back with it.
"Taeil run!" shouted Yuta, his feet like paralyzed when the girl lost balance falling out of the boat, the man grabbed for the gun but it fell out of his pocket, when Taeil went ghostly pale.
The man jumped at him pushing him. Yuta moved forward, hitting the man's back with the puddle, but Taeil fell back hitting his head against the edge of the boat.
"Taeil!" yelled Yuta, hitting the man harder until he fell on the deck unconscious or dead, Yuta never wished to check when he ran to Taeil.
The boat was speeding towards the mountain wall and Yuta grabbed Taeil jumping into the water. The cold waves hit him painfully, but the life vest was helping him to keep above the edge. Taeil was in his arms, unconscious, blood dripping from the wound in his head, the beautiful boat nearing it's final arousal on the cold blue rocks, when Yuta was swimming as quick as possible against the floating. Yuta only grabbed Taeil tighter swimming the opposite way than the boat, he saw the girl who was swimming towards it trying to climb on deck to finish him off but in that moment a sharp noise of metal colliding with stone echoed the static. 'Ella' burst out into flames crushing into pieces against the mountain wall. Yuta could only watch in horror, how it was glowing in the daylight like a dying flare.
"Help! Someone help!" he yelled, as the lake seemed endless. The pieces of Taile's lost dream were circling like a snow of ashes in the sky, the air was filled with smoke, and the heavy smell of burning petrol. Still Yuta was trying his best to keep Taeil up, the life vest keeping them both from dying in the waves, but there was just water around them, endless and scary.
He was so frighted, so terrified, he wanted nothing more than for that horror to end, he was moving his arms and legs to get a little away, Taeil's body becoming so heavy in his arms, but he decided as long as he has some strength left, he will not let go.
Thank you for your feedback. What do you think about the chapter? Will Yuta and Taeil survive?
