Chapter fourteen (Are we there yet?)

Gloria's POV
1st person style

We've been walking along for a while now. With Leon leading us down the path that's supposed to lead to the professors' house.

Hops' at my side, Misty is riding in my book bag, watching some cartoon on my phone that I let her hold.

I mostly gave it to her so that she could have something to do other then whining about how the walk is taking forever.

While it is kind of annoying to listen to I can't really blame her too much. Leon has led us in so many different directions and to practically every other house in all of Galar besides the one we're supposed to be at!

Why exactly did Hop think is was ok to let him take us to the professors' house again?

"Sobble!" Misty squeaked something in her own language as she climbed onto my head and showed me a scene of the show that she was watching.
She held the phone in front of my face but not too close to where I couldn't see it clearly.

"I am here! Coming through the door like a hero!"

A VERY muscular super hero character of some sort said as he stood half way in and halfway out of a door frame. The kids in the classroom all looked at this character when he declared this.

"Sobble so! Sobble?" I could tell Misty asked me a question but I had no idea what she said. I just smiled at her and asked.

"So that's your favorite character, right?"

"Sobble..!" she answered with a smile turning the phone off and placing it into my back pack.
"Sobble, Sobble?" She asked me something again but this time I didn't have another question to ask so I just looked away from her.
"Hm..."

I heard her sigh before slipping back into my back pack. Probably to finish watching that show.

I walked over to be a little bit closer to Hop. He seem to be lost in thought about something, I was reluctant to snap him out of it but I needed to ask him something so I just went ahead with it and asked him the question.

"Hey, what route are we on now?"

"Umm..." he thought about it for a moment and then looked up at Leon.

"Um, Lee what route are we on now?" He shouted to his brother who was walking a few feet in front of us.

'Well I coulda done that!'

I said in my head while rolling my eyes at what Hop did.

"Route 2. The professors house isn't too far now." He told us.

"That's what you said the last time I asked. Which was an hour ago!" I said in a soft voice so Leon couldn't hear my remark.

Then I felt a hand being placed on my shoulder and I turned to my left and saw that it was Hop who had placed his hand on my shoulder.

"Chin up would you?" he said to me with a smile "I'm sure we'll get there soon enough. Lee might not be the best with guiding but I have a feeling we'll get there soon enough." he said trying to reassure me.

I sighed and gave him a small smile. "If you say so." I said in a calmer voice. "Well at least we're on the right route now. If we take another wrong turn I think Misty's going to kill my battery." I joked hearing faint dialogue from the show she was watching. Whatever it was sounded kind of good, maybe I should watch it with her sometime.

"Why don't ya just take it from him then? We could find something else for the little guy to do for the next few minutes."

"Nah, I think I'll let Misty keep it for now. Plus she's a girl Hop." I informed him.
