Yanna:
"Where shall I take you first Miss?" Hoseok asks as he glanced at me. "Uhmmm....", before I could finish what I was about to say, my stomach grumbled. I looked away from him out of embarrassment. "Oh, haven't you eaten your breakfast yet?" he asked looking at me with concern. "I just had a cup of coffee earlier", I shyly responded. "Me either, we should go to the cafe first, let's have breakfast there."
He drove off to a cafe. The car stopped. He immediately got out and opened the car door for me. I thanked him and he led me inside the cafe. I noticed that he took me to my favorite cafe.We sat on the corner beside which had the view of people and vehicles passing by. I smiled as I took in the scent of freshly brewed coffee. Hoseok sat across me so he was facing me. "What would you like to eat?" he asked. "I'll just have pancakes and a cup of macchiato." He stood up to order food for both of us. I handed him the money for my food. "No, Yanna. It's my treat, it's on me", he rejected. I hesitated at first but eventually gave in.
He lined up with the other customers since it was a self service cafe. The employees were just tasked to prepare the food that the customers order. It's more like a fast-food chain.
Minutes after, he approached me, carrying a tray. He placed my food in front of me. "Thank you, Hoseok", I smiled at him. "You're welcome Yanna."
We started eating and I noticed that he ordered the same food as mine. There was an awful silence between us. Only the sound of us munching on our food and sipping our coffee could be heard. I decided to break the awkward silence."Do you like pancakes too? I see you ordered the same food as mine."
"Yes, I like pancakes. Specially when it's glazed with maple syrup. Just the best", I smiled with his cute response. "Omo, that's my favorite too, we have the same taste. I think I'll enjoy your company Hoseok", I responded and giggled right after. "Don't you already enjoy my company Yanna? If not, I'm gonna make sure you'll love being with me from now on", he responded frowning a little which made him look cute. "Of course, I enjoy your company Hoseok, but I think I'll enjoy more from now on."
"Oh, I'll make sure of that. One thing more Yanna, you can just call me Hobi."
"Hobi? Is that your nickname?"
"Not really, it's just what my friends call me. They made a nickname for me. They said it's the Arabic term for 'sunshine'. Do I look like the sun Yanna? Is my forehead too bright?"
I chuckled at his silly question. "Your friends were right, Hobi. It suits you, the nickname suits you."
"Why do you say so?"
"Because you brighten up other people's day with your cheerful attitude. That makes you the sunshine."
"Does it mean I brighten up your day too?"
"Of course Hobi. In fact, you were the first person to ever ask me to be his friend. I have some people I talk to, but not enough for them to be considered as my friend."
"From now on, I'll be with you always. I'd love to cheer you up each day. I promise that Yanna."
I smiled as he said those words.
We finished eating breakfast. We stayed there for a while and talked a bit more too just to let the food settle down a bit in our stomach.
"Where should we go next?", he asked me as we approach his car. "I don't know Hoseok, it's up to you." He opened the car door for me. I settled down as he did so in the driver's seat. "I'll take you to somewhere we can have fun."
He drove off. I just kept on looking outside the window while he drives. I checked my wristwatch. It's nearly 10 in the morning. Woah, we spent much time inside the cafe.
He drove inside the parking lot of a mall. He parked the and opened the car door for me as usual. He is such a gentleman. "What are we gonna do here Hobi?", I asked raising an eyebrow at him."You'll see"he replied grinning.
He pulled me inside the mall. We got past huge stores. I didn't realize it until we stopped and entered the mall's arcade. "Hobi, please don't tell me we're gonna play here with those kids", I said as I looked around and saw many, many kids playing.
"So what? They don't own this arcade. Besides, you'll have fun. Trust me."
He bought tokens at the counter. Lots of them. We started playing basketball, then the car racing game. I didn't realize that we almost played all the games available here.
"Thank you for that Hobi, I had so much fun."
"See, I told ya, you just have to trust the sunshine."
"Oh I see. I'll trust the sunshine from now on then."
"We just have one thing we haven't tried yet. Wanna come with me Yanna?"
"Oh not really", I teased him. He just pouted. How cute.
"You told me you will trust the sunshine. So come with me."
"Where?"
"There", he responded pointing at one booth. I realized it was the karaoke booth. Oh shoot please, no.
"No Hobi, I have a terrible voice. You'll just hurt your ears."
"How would I know? You should sing with me, then I'll decide if I let you sing again with me next time."
"No please. I'm too shy for that."
"It's okay Yanna. Trust the sunshine."
He started singing a song. I ever shyly started singing with him. I noticed all the people staring at us while we sing and that made me super shy. Hoseok just looked at me, smiling encouraging me. We finished singing 5 songs together and I pretty much had fun.
"You're right Hobi, I just have to trust the sunshine."
"I know, I know.Besides, you don't have a terrible voice. You actually sound like an angel", he responded proudly. I just looked down shyly.Luckily, he didn't notice that. He actually has a pretty voice too.
"We should go have our lunch. My stomach kinda hurts now", he said.
We entered a restaurant and ordered our foods. I munched on the food while having small talk with him.
"Woah, that was satisfying", I said while rubbing my belly.
"I know right", he responded, rubbing his belly as well.
We spent the whole afternoon strolling around the mall, talking about ourselves. He even attempted buying me some stuff, but I rejected it since we just met. Besides, it's not his responsibility to do so. He just agreed.He probably thought of that too.
In just one day, we got to know more about each other. We talked about the work we do, favorites and some hobbies. Well not all of them. I found out that he works for his dad's company. His family owns a company here in Seoul. That's why he has a luxurious car.
It's almost 5 in the afternoon. We decided to leave the mall. We are now on the parking lot. We entered his car and we drove off. While driving, he opened up about the topic I just wanted to forget. "Why did you kiss me yesterday Yanna?
I looked away, feeling super embarrased. I just want the ground to open and swallow me.
"I don't know, I just had the urge to do so. I'm so sorry", I answered looking down. "Why are you apologizing? It's okay, I kinda liked it", he said without hesitation. What? He liked it? Omo.
"Wanna give me one again Yanna?", he asked playfully, wiggling his eyebrows and pointing at his cheeks.
"Yah, focus on driving, we might get hit", I say as I playfully hit his arm. "Okay, okay", he responded slightly chuckling.
We arrived outside my apartment building. He parked the car and helped me out. "Thank you so much for this day Hobi, it really means a lot to me."
"No problem Yanna", he replied and smiled at me.
I was about to walk away when he called out for me.
"Hey, Yanna"
"Yes?"
"How about a goodbye kiss for me?"
"Yah, Hobi-ah, you make me feel embarrased."
"You shouldn't be, the sunshine likes it."
"Oh really? Then I should give him one then", I said as I went near him and kissed his cheek again. I was surprised as he pulled me in for a hug after that. I hugged him back.
"Goodbye Hobi",I said as we pulled away from the hug.
"Goodbye Yanna, have a good rest."
He went inside his car. He waved goodbye at me before I saw him drive off.
I went up my room and opened the door. I was greeted by my dog Tan. I quickly changed into comfy clothes and fed Tan. I had a movie marathon. Evening arrived and I prepared my dinner. It was getting pretty late and I decided to go get ready for bed. I put my phone on the nightstand as I took a quick shower and change into my pajamas. I went out of the bathroom and saw that Hoseok texted me again.
Hoseok♡:
Hey Yanna. I sure hope you had fun with me today.
Me:
I surely had fun.Thanks to you.
Hoseok♡:
It's my pleasure. I'm sure it won't be the last. Well, if you allow me to.
Me:
Of course, I'd love to.
Hoseok♡:
Great. I'm looking forward to hanging out with you again.
Me:
Me too. Anyways, it's getting late and I have work tomorrow. I believe you have work tomorrow too. We should go take a rest.
Hoseok♡:
Yeah you're right. Good night Yanna.😘
Me:
Good night Hoseok.
After typing and sending a reply I put my phone on the nightstand and drifted to sleep.
You drifted off to sleep not knowing Hoseok has sent another reply.
