Author's note :- This is a really short chapter and I considered cutting it due to its size but here, on Wattpad, it doesn't really matter. Let me know if you think it doesn't need to be included.

The structure I'm using is that each chapter is about what happens during a solitary day. So, if I don't include this here, then it can't be included elsewhere.

Thank you for continuing to read the story.

S P LAKIN

Lhev JuQetaw, the grelite king, entered his briefing room. He looked at Voec UoButha on his way to his seat. He'd sent Voec to Tranchilite as the commander of his forces to help with the recent trouble there. Voec remained silent, waiting for his king to speak first.

"Hello, Voec. Is there anything interesting to report?"

"We crushed all opposition with ease, your majesty."

"As expected," he said before adding. "Details?"

"We were sent to various hotspots and succeeded in every conflict. It was no challenge."

"Is that all?"

"Your majesty. Perhaps Pach PaGaresh could provide a better report. He was there."

"I know he was, Voec. Pay him of no mind. He was there for a different task."

"What do you want me to say, your majesty?"

"Did you kill that rogue colonel?"

"We never saw him, your majesty. We were sent to various towns and cities. He was never there."

"Is he dead? Is it the end of the threat?"

"One of those humans killed him, but not before he killed the emperor's brother, General Zemorphoride, was killed, your majesty."

"I want you to step up training, Voec. Civil war has broken out on several worlds. We squashed the attempt here, but others were not so successful. We need to be ready for war. You may go."

Voec stood up and bowed. "Your majesty," he said before leaving.

Lhev pressed a button on the desk in front of him. It linked him directly to Pach PaGaresh. The hologram flickered to life in the centre of his desk.

'Yes, your majesty,' said the flickering image in the hologram.

"What is taking so long, Pach? I was expecting you back days ago."

'The varsoomian is elusive, your majesty. We always seem to be one step behind him.'

"Get ahead of him then. Why are you letting him get the better of you?"

'I have already changed my tactics. I am sure that we will come face to face with him soon."

"Are the osolite's cooperating?"

'They are, your majesty. They're useless in a fight though.'

"Just get it done quickly and bring that varsoomian here. I'm getting tired of waiting."

'Yes, your majesty.'

Lhev switched the hologram off and rose from his seat. "Guard!"

The door opened and a guard stepped inside.

"Fetch me a female!"

"Your majesty," the guard bowed and closed the door.

Two minutes later the door opened, and a female entered.

"Over here!"

She marched over to his desk and waited while Lhev circled her.

"Into my chambers!"

She bowed her head and marched to his chamber door. She never spoke for that would incur his wrath. She had already bore him two sons over the last nine years.

He now had thirty-nine children between twenty-eight different women. He didn't know any of their names or remember the women from previous encounters. His people tried to use new ones where they could.

Lhev followed her into his chambers to relieve some of his stress at the infuriating lack of progress Pach seemed to be making.
