Nightmares

Brothers

"You..you're...WHAT?!" Obi Wan was speechless. Anakin just told him he was married. It took a while for Obi Wan to process this new information. Once he did, he had a lot of questions. Calming his thoughts, he began to ask his questions.

"When did you two get married?" "About 2 and a half years ago. We got married a little while after the Battle of Geonosis." Anakin answered calmly.

"Do you ever plan on having kids?" "Maybe someday, after the war. I know Padmé wants to."

"Is it hard being apart from each other?" "It's horrible. Every day is more and more painful. It breaks my heart."

Obi Wan sighed. Once again, he was at a loss for words. He had more questions, but he didn't want to ask them. Without really thinking, he hugged Anakin. Anakin was surprised, but he definetly needed a hug. It meant a lot to him to have his friend's support. Anakin hugged him back. They sat there for a while in silence. Then Anakin spoke again.

"I'm scared. What if my dreams come true? What if I fail her? I...I can't live without her."

"Anakin." Obi Wan said slowly. He wanted to choose his words carefully. "You won't fail Padmé. You have grown into an incredible Jedi, and I am truly proud of you. I promise to help you in any way I can." Anakin smiled. Those words meant so much to him. He hugged Obi Wan again. Obi Wan hugged his friend back. "I'm with you till the end Anakin. You're my brother." Anakin teared up little. He told Obi Wan everything from the beginning. They talked for hours until they arrived at their destination.

As they left his room, Anakin felt much better. His level of happiness was indescribable. It meant everything to know that his brother had his back. That night, Anakin slept the whole night with little disturbance. It was his best sleep in a long time.
