Nightmares

Ray of Hope

Two days passed. Anakin remained asleep.His breathing was steady, so he no longer needed the mask. Ahsoka and Padmé remained at his side. They both refused to sleep, eat, or leave Anakin alone. Obi Wan would visit a few hours at a time, 5 times a day. When he wasn't checking on Anakin, Obi Wan was working to find Grievous and Dooku. Once the Jedi captured them, the War would officially be over. It would be easy to find them now that the Chancellor was dead, but the Senate was in chaos. Most blamed the Jedi for his death, and refused to believe he was a Sith. Bail Organa was elected as the new Supreme Chancellor of the Republic. He was working bring peace. Still, chaos prevailed. Finally, a small ray of hope came.

Anakin groaned. He tried sitting up, and was met with a shooting pain. His entire body ached. He felt dizzy. "ANAKIN!" two female voices yelled. Two sets of arms wrapped around him, trapping him in a tight hug. "Hey." he replied. Padmé was crying. "You're finally awake!" she cried. "Finally?" he asked. "You've been asleep for nearly three days." Ahsoka said. "Well in that case, it's good to see you Snips." She rolled her eyes and sighed. "I'm glad you're back Skyguy." she replied in her snippy tone. Tears came to her eyes, but she fought them off. "The doctors said you might never wake up. They said you probably wouldn't survive." Padmé was sobbing now. She curled up into Anakin, and he held her close. Anakin gently kissed her head before looking back at Ahsoka. "Everyone was worried about you. Even Yoda came to visit a few times." Ahsoka said with a weak smile. She was now sitting at the foot of Anakin's bed. Anakin smiled back. "I'm fine now Snips." "I'm going to call Obi Wan and tell him the good news." she said, getting up and leaving. Anakin looked down at Padmé. She was snuggled up against him, leaning into his side. "I love you." he mummered into her soft brown hair. She looked up at him, staring into his blue eyes. She had stopped crying now. "I love you too." she said softly. Their lips met in a tender kiss. Ahsoka walked back into the room after a while. She cleared her throat loudly. The couple pulled away as Ahsoka sat back down. "Obi Wan's on his way." she reported. "He'll be here soon."
