"do you really want to go to alzar?" kaya look's to me slightly "it'll be easier to hide from morfian if we go to the last place he'd expect a shifter and a half siren half warlock to go" she pauses waiting for my answer I just gesture for her to continue. "we could go to school meet people make friend's like normal teenager's!" this idea grows on me the picture of kaya and I infrount of a school with other teenager's.normal teenager's." that sounds...perfect" kaya perked up." so you're on board!?" I smile "let's live a normal life for as long as we can" she screams in delight coming and hugging me tightly. she looks up at me "did your dad teach you how to open a portal?" I shrug "I dabbled with it" kaya realise's me "so the translation to that is... I'm perfect at it and is studied it most of my life" I laugh and smile "you know me too well" "we need a pound" "on it" kaya says jogging off. a couple of minutes later she yells at me that she found a pound. I quickly run to her.it's grubby and frog infested but it'll work. "let's go," I say muttering the spell to open the portal. the water start's shining a bright blue showing glimpse's of the place we're going. "you first" I gesture with my hand." no way" kaya shake's her head vigorously. "you" "fine" I say then jump into the air and plunging through the portal fighting the urge to vomit.i land gracefully on the balls of my feet.but the landing was useless because kaya fall's right on top of me screaming her lung's off. "shhhhh!" I raise a finger to my lip and push her off me. I stand up and look around. it seems we are in a sort of storage closet. but big as two bedrooms. I see a door and slowly creep toward's it. I open it a crack and light pour's into the room. "hello?" someone calls from the room. "Sarah?" I step out gesturing for kaya to follow. a middle-aged lady with blonde hair and kind blue eyes smile's at me. "are you two here for a session?" "a what?" kaya ask's." a hypnotherapy session?" the lady looks confused." what were you doing in there anyway?" then realization dawn's on her." do you have anywhere to go?" I shake my head "no" she seems to think about something for a moment. "just let me make a call I'll be right back" kaya tug's on my cloak. "she's going to call the cops" she frown's "let's go!" "no, I don't think she will," I say leaning against the light blue wall's. kaya reluctantly follows suit sitting herself down on the floor beside me I notice her eyes are now just a shade of browny-gold instead of glowing yellow. the lady walks back into the room "let's here your name's"she smiles kindly. kaya begins but I stop her  "my name is Rachel and this is Raina" "well nice to meet you girl's my name's Jeannie" she smiles so brightly I'm tempted to cover my eye's." well I have good new's...since you have nowhere to go right now my husband and I would like to invite you to our house for dinner" "thank you so much but we really..." kaya cut's me short." would love to thank you" I glare at her and she mouth's "what I'm hungry!" I sigh putting on a winning smile." yes thank you" "I just have to clean up for a little while then we're set to go" she says the smile plastered on her face never wavering."sound's good!" kaya says giving Jeannie a thumb's up.

we drive into Jeannie's driveway the whole drive she's been asking us the standard questions "do your parents know where you are?" "Are you from here?" "what school do you go to?" so far the story is that kaya is my cousin from Ontario and she came to live with me because her parent's died in a fire. but we ran away from my home because my parents are drug addicts. she smiles sympathetically "I'm sorry you had to go through that" we wave it off and hop out of the car.the house was standard two floors are a deck out the front a fair-sized lawn. "you have a beautiful home," kaya says to Jeannie. "we are very fortunate," she says guiding us into a fenced-off area. with garden beds everywhere.there's a man bending over one of the beds he has dark hair and some stubble on his chin he's wearing shorts and gumboot's picking green leaves off a small plant. he looks up as the gate opens smiling."hello honey" he says smiling at his wife "girl's" he regards us with a kind smile. "Rachel Raina this is my husband Richard" "hello" kaya and I course. then I hear a voice in my head "I will find you"Chris's voice sound's through my head. "no" I sigh "you won't" and then follow jeannie into the house.
