Chapter 20

It had been 3 days since the celebration.

Raven had been busy due to the promotion she did of the companies' product. They had got a lot of orders due to it, and Raven was managing it primarily, while giving proper reports to Kaia. Raven had also employed Sia, Yevette and Eli to help her.

Due to this Kaia decided to take the twins with her as they were better trained than the rest on mannerism of nobles. Kaia had made a report about Azai just in case.

Kaia and the girls made their way to the Duke's house. There was barely anyone there. She then met a guard who looked more like a giant than a human, but she knew who it was. It was one of Duke's best fighters, Kory. He had a big built but that never slowed him down. Though he could never win against the Duke and even though he didn't know it yet, he would also lose against Kaia (A/N: She is my badass woman even duke will have a hard time defeating her).

Kory said "who are you?" he said in a gruff voice to scare the person in front of him. He couldn't see her face and thought it was a man because of her clothes, but he didn't properly notice that she was still wearing a woman's hat. Her navy blue pants and white shirt looked graceful on her.

(A/N: BTW Raven had no idea that Kaia was meeting the duke, or she would not have allowed these clothes.)

Then Kaia said "I wish to meet the duke. I understand that he should be waiting for me. If only you would pass on a message to him, he would understand who I am."

When she spoke it finally clicked to Kory that it was a woman in front of him, and he almost got annoyed as so many women come looking for the Duke every single day. He asked, "what messaged would that be?"

"Tell him he had waited long enough" Kaia looked at Kory and gave a wry smile.

Kory found it amusing, and he wanted to know what was it that this woman wanted to say with the confidence that she was talking with.

"I will lead you to the receiving room." Kory said and started walking. Kaia and the twins followed him.

On her way to the receiving room, Kaia noticed that there was no one around, if it were not for the cleanliness she would have thought this was an abandoned house.

After asking them to wait there Kory made his way to Duke's office. He knocked and entered without waiting for an answer from the duke.

"There is someone who said they wanted to meet you." Kory Said

"There are no appointments today and you know that so why are you bugging me" Duke said without looking up from the report he was reading.

"She seemed interesting, even said you don't have to wait any longer for her" Kory is usually up to no good so this would happen sometimes. The moment Kory said Duke looked up and gave a freezing look to him. For a second Kory thought he was dead.

'So she finally shows up huh. She really has guts to make me wait so long.' duke thought to himself.

Duke got up and starting walking towards the receiving room. Forgetting the fear inducing moment that just happened. Kory went back to being amused to see the Duke walking out of his office.

When they reached the room Kaia had removed her hat and let her hair down. She seemed comfortable even though she was in the Duke's house, where most people that visited would be fidgety and nervous. She seemed like she owned the room.

Kaia was talking to a pair of twins in the room who at first seemed like boys due to their clothing but when looked at closer they were girls. Raven would never have allowed this when she finds out all of them are getting an earful. While Kaia might be more powerful, because she respects Raven to a certain degree Raven is allowed to boss everyone around. Something not a lot of people has had a chance of doing.

When she noticed the duke walk in she gave him a cheeky smile. Which took back the duke for a second but no one except Kaia noticed. Kaia and the girls curtsied and all of them settled down after introductions.

What was actually going on in Kaia's mind when she first saw the duke was 'Damn he's good-looking. Is this man fucking chiselled out of marble and then painted caramel?' this was the first time she got a good look at him. And she felt thrilled that this man is about to owe her something.

This was also the first time the Duke got a good look at her. He did believe that she was beautiful, but he had seen all kinds of beauty already, due to which he wasnt that surprised. But he thought her personality was a little odd. 'Who goes around being cheeky in the Ducal house?' had become his main thought suddenly. Followed by 'How is she that comfortable here.'

These thoughts were mainly due to the fact that everyone had a well-founded fear of him no matter how much they lusted after him or were desirous for his favour. No one would go around being that at ease around him. Even the women he slept with. Though this one in front of him did not care about fear.
