Chapter 19

When they reached and entered the celebration hall, Kaia was glad that there were other people whose beauty she could hide behind. So not a lot of people will end up approaching her.

She was also someone not a lot of people knew. She eventually spotted a crowd in middle of which stood a man with black hair. He was surrounded by so many women that it was almost impossible to even catch a glimpse.

Then she caught a glance of his red eyes, and she knew in an instant that this was the Duke of Black Dragons—Azai's father. She kept her eyes on him for a long while hoping to get a chance to talk to him. But she was in no way going to try to go through the swarm of people that had collected around him.

She hated crowds.

Duke's POV

I feel as if someone is starting at me for a while now. Someone that is not part of this annoying crowd. Then I finally find the pair of eyes that were looking at me. They were beautiful and icy.

It felt as if she wanted to say something. But then so did many others around me. But for some reason her eyes irked me.

It seemed she was not going to approach me due to the crowd. But yet her eyes intently watching me. People have looked at me with lust and greed but this was something different. So I separated from them. She seemed to have understood and followed me.

3rd person POV

Kaia kept a good eye on him listening to his conversations with people that seemed half-arsed. He wasn't even trying to converse. Kaia was judging him. There was not a lot to judge by he just seemed uninterested in the whole thing. Yet I doubt anyone near him could see that.

She saw him looking at her once in a while. Then he made a break from the crowd heading toward the gardens. Kaia followed him but before she could say something, a woman approached the Duke.

The woman said "I love you, why don't you want me. Are you going to leave me alone after all the nights we spent together? Why did you send me those Black Roses. Do you know how devastated I was?"

"You knew I would never love you. " Duke said in such an icy voice that if he had ice powers he would end up freezing the entire garden.

The woman started crying and then eventually left.

"Come out" duke said.

Kaia knew he was talking to her. She stepped out of her hiding place.

"Do you like eavesdropping?" Duke asked

"Don't really care about your love life." Kaia said simply. While thinking, he really was a womanizer. She really didn't like his kind. But she still couldn't see him properly as it was a little dark but his eyes were beautiful and deadly. Which she had to admit herself.

While on the other hand he was just curious as to what she wanted.

"Did you have something you wanted to tell me?"

"Yes, but not here. I will contact you in a day of two."

"And why should I wait for you?" He was a little amused at this point that someone had dared to ask him to wait. But at the same time she did not look like she cared about the fact if he waited for her or not.

"It will be your loss."

"Why can't you say it here" he knew that someone was listening.

"We both know why" Kaia said nodding towards the direction that a person hiding listening to their conversation.

"When will you be coming?"

"Who knows, let's see if you have the patience to wait for me" she said.

The duke was really amused at this point. Not only did she dare to make him want but also didn't specify for how long he had to wait. This one sure has guts.

The duke nodded.

Kaia seeing that also nodded and then left.
