Chapter 23

Kaia POV

I finally reached home 'what the hell was wrong with that man. Ugh if he wasn't that handsome I would have left long ago.'

I saw that all the kids were waiting for me. I asked Azai to come with me. When we reached my office I said "sit"

He sat down.

"Azai," my tone was as soft "I have something to tell you. I'm not sure if this will make you upset or not but I think it's time you knew"

Azai didn't say anything.

I continued "I know who your father is, before you say you don't care just know this, he didn't know you existed. I don't know the full story but I'm guessing your mother did not tell him about you before she died. He wants you to go live with him."

"How do you know I'm his son"

"If you see him you will understand in a second yourself. You look exactly like him just a smaller version."

"So are you kicking me out?"

"No, that's not it, feel free to drop by anytime you want"

"Can I have some time to think about all this?"

I nodded and said "do you want to tell others or should I"

"I will tell them"

I nodded and left.

Azai POV.

After I walked out of Lady Kaia's office I went straight to my room. I don't really understand what is happening. I don't really have an option either. I wonder what kind of man 'my father' is. who is he even? I fell asleep while thinking out it.

It has been 2 days. I have made the decision to leave in another 2 days. I will be telling everyone here about this tonight.

Everyone was gathered in the receiving room after dinner.

"I will be leaving in 2 days. Lady Kaia had found my father, and he wants me back"

"What?!" Sia and Raven couldn't comprehend what just happened. They looked at lady Kaia and raven said "who is it? Why does he suddenly want Azai? How could you let this happen."

Lady Kaia simply said "I can't tell you anything when Azai doesn't even know"

"Who is he?" I asked

Lady Kaia looked at me and said "Are you OK with me saying it here?"

I nodded. I trust these people.

Lady Kaia contemplated for a moment and then sighed and said "Duke of Black Dragon"

No one could understand even for a second what had just been said. Even the twins that went to the duke's place with lady Kaia didn't think that this would be the answer.

It took a while for everyone to regain their composure then finally teacher Raven broke the silence "when did you find out"

"Always knew," Lady Kaia said.

"Then did you keep me because I was his son?" I asked

"Well, I would have actually liked it to not be true because then I could have kept you. But since I knew I had an obligation to tell him"

I understood that she wanted me for me and not my family. Lady Kaia is not the kind to lie about these things.

I nodded.

3rd person POV.

Kaia had already sent a letter to the duke that evening about their arrival in 2 days. The night went by with a lot of tears and a bit of laughter. Kaia was the first to retire to her room. Eventually, only two people were left Azai and Yevette.

They talked about random things for a while and dozed off right there.

Kaia came to check on them once she put a blanket on them and left.

The next day was spent doing things that Azai wanted to.
