Kaia POV

Shit shit shit shit shit shit shit. Why.. Why can't the stupid fate let me live my life in peace.

Let me tell you what's happening right now. A boy from the slums is standing in front of me. Now on most days, I would just say if I want them or not. Which is what I did earlier when Raven had just brought the child to me. But back dark black hair we're covering his face so I couldn't see his eyes. Back then, he just seemed like he a ferocious beast so seemed useful. Well, never again am I taking kids in without checking their eyes.

Now you must be wondering what's so special about the eyes. Well, let me tell you they are fucking red!!!! its the ready that will make rubies worthless.

Now let me tell you what's wrong with red eyes. Firstly, everything, because the means that the child is the Duke's son. The one that the Duke doesn't know about yet, so no one is really looking for him, yet. In the book, it was also the only child the Duke ever had.

How are red eyes and the Duke related?

Well, even though it is not known to the population, only the dukes family can possess red eyes. Wonder why no one has noticed it yet.

Well, that could also be because almost red eyes also exist. So no one has made the connection yet. Basically, there is a unique Ruby-like red that is being passed down the central family. Other people that have red eyes are not so vibrant or are a different shade of red, these are people had have a very distant ducal ancestry. The ducal house does not involve itself with these people. There is also pink somewhere mixed along the line.

BUT THAT'S NOT THE FUCKING POINT!!!

This boys eyes are ruby red which is the colour of the direct descendant of the Duke of Black Dragon family. I only know this because it was in the book I read in my past life.

Now while I can say that I have changed my mind and let the boy go. Or that I don't want to see him again. But I don't think I can do that. Why? Because when the Duke finds the boy and finds out that I threw the kid out, he may try to get revenge.

Ugh, I have a headache because of this death flag. I don't really fear the Duke I may be able to win against him one on one. What I fear is his army, I can't fight against it all on my own.

"Meet me tomorrow morning before I leave for the workshop. I'll tell you what you are to do then". I said as I need to think about this clearly. "Yevette lead him to a room you see fit."

After they left, I was alone in the room and lay on the sofa. I have figured out one thing, and that is I can't just throw the kid away. It will become a possible death flag.

Let's think about it then.

Duke of Black Dragon is currently fighting in a war and is not to return for more than a year. I think I should raise the boy for a while and when the Duke returns I should just hand the boy over to the Duke. That should provide some goodwill in front of him. Maybe this will stop my death altogether. Well... temporarily.

Now I don't think I should give the boy spy training. I think I will provide him with sword training, though. And he should be guided by Raven just like the rest so that he learns fundamental of nobility do's and don'ts.

I called in Yevette "listen to me carefully and pass my message to other kids as well. The new kid is not to know about spy training. He will be taught sword technique, and he will attend Raven's classes with all of you. Tell them to think of this as training for the future and anyone who loses will lose all right to be here."
