~Y/N~
I had left Taehyung to clean himself up and rest, and went back to the room I was staying in. We had gone back to their apartment since it was finally cleared by the police and it had felt like ages since I had been back. This place was my home.
Of course, when the girl who you thought was your friend and had tried to stake you ended up staying as well, it would probably ruin the mood. Ridley was here, so my mood had changed drastically at our arrival. She was too clingy to Jungkook and painfully obvious fake sweetness radiated off of her. She seemed so nice in the beginning, but I guess when you think the world is ending you want to keep everyone close to you.
I waited almost half of the week debating with myself on whether I should clear everything up with him. He still gave me the side eye and still seemed to keep a grasp on me. Maybe if I finally told him my feelings, he would let go. I walked into the living room and, miraculously, Jungkook was alone.
"Hey Jungkook, can I talk to you?" I asked and received a nod from him. His eyes widened and the scratched the back of his neck as he followed me to his room. I turned to face him and he closed the door behind him. "I'm really sorry for dragging you into all of this mess." I say, then pause. My brain rattles for a way to start this.
"You didn't drag us into the war, Y/N, the only thing you did was help." His voice was soothing as he smiled and it made my heart clench even more.
"No, Jungkook, that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about having feelings for you and leading you on." His face fell.
"What do you mean? You're choosing...?" His eyes were glazed over and he lowered his head.
"I love Taehyung, Jungkook." I say quietly and he glances back up at me in surprise.
"Oh... Okay. I hope you treat each other well. He deserves someone like you." He sighed and I saw his eyes fill with tears.
"Jungkook-"
"Please get out, Y/N." His voice cracks and my heart shatters, but I quickly move out and close the door between us. The space between him and I felt so much more distant than ever before, even though we were only parted by the wooden shield.
I walk slowly back to Taehyung's room, opening the door to see him resting. My heart lifted a little bit, but the rock still pulled at my heart, weighing heavily on my chest.
"Hey Taehyung...?" I walk to his bed and his eyes slowly open, staring intently at me. It felt like he was staring straight into my shattered soul. He picked up a piece.
"Sit with me." His voice was hoarse as he patted the bed next to him. I immediately sat per his request. His arm carried my weight as he wrapped it around me. He lifted the rock.
"Y/N... what's wrong?" Dark chocolate eyes met mine and I knew I was safe, I was home.
"I told Jungkook how I felt. Who I chose." I said quietly and looked down. His grip around me tightened a little.
"... And?" His voice shook slightly.
"I chose you, Taehyung. You're the one I love." I looked back up at him to see a huge box smile. He grinned ear to ear and I suddenly felt a rush of warmth when his lips met mine. It was tender and slow, like he was taking his time and examining everything about the kiss, memorizing every movement. Then it was over like a blink of an eye, leaving me to want more. The feeling lingered on my lips as his smile grew and he pulled me to his chest to hug me tighter.
"I've always loved you, Y/N. Since the day I met you." His voice rumbled on my back and I felt him plant a kiss on my cheek, warmth surrounding the both of us. My heart almost exploded as he leaned his chin on my shoulder.
"Forever and always."
