~Y/N~
I pull my phone out of my pocket and check the time. It was 6:37 PM. I should be getting home. Right now I was working at the hospital as a blood donor. It's the only way I can make money and also never go hungry for blood.
I usually work until 6:00, but I chose to stay an extra 30 minutes to make some extra money. As I'm walking toward the doors, I scan my ID. Then I'm out.
Now I was walking down the streets of the city. The moon was full, but there were no stars due to the smog in the air. Shivers went down my spine as I remember the night that changed my life.
My apartment is only a block away, so I usually walk home. It seems unsafe, I know, but I don't have a car at the moment and around here is a safe neighborhood.
I let my mind wander.
I'll have to fill out the donor paper tomorrow, and then maybe I could get out early to make dinner. Blood milkshakes sounds amazing—
Suddenly, I'm on the ground. I wonder what happened, a little dazed and I see that there is a man laying next to me, breathing heavily. He got up quickly, "Sorry miss... I was in a hurry..." he reached his hand out to me to help me up and I took it. Looking at him, I realized he was a good-looking man. He had dark hair that moved in the light wind and wide dark eyes. They almost looked puppy-like as he apologized to me. The odd thing about him was that his arms were all hairy and that his nails were sharper than the normal human being's. The street lights were shining on his back, so as he stood he looked like a dark angel.
"Again, sorry..." He said and then started running away again.
I watched curiously after him as he disappeared into the shadows and I kept walking the way home. As I got in the building, I felt a chill trail down my spine as the incident replayed my mind. Something seemed wrong with him. He did say he was in a hurry...
Y/N, it isn't any of your business. He has nothing to do with you, so leave it alone.
I stop at my apartment door and reach into my pocket, taking out my keys. Sliding one into the lock, it clicks open. Sighing to myself, I swing the door open and kick it closed behind me as I walk in.
Little did I know that that man had a lot to do with me and my future.
