~ Taehyung ~
I rushed to Namjoon's room once I hung up from the phone call with Y/N. When I burst in, Namjoon turned and looked at me confused, his eyebrows furrowed into a line.
"Y/N found a note in her kitchen when she arrived at her house and found her mom dead on the floor." I said, making Namjoon's eyes widen to saucers.
"What?"  He set down his phone and turned all of his attention to me.
"Yes. It was worse than we thought." I tensed up, "And as we were talking on the phone, she said that she was allied with us. Then Persona Non Grata must have been listening to us since they had come to her house and started to break in. I told her to burn down the apartment so that they would think she was dead. I told her that when they left she was to get away as fast as she could."
"Wow—" Namjoon paused in shock. "Jimin left to ask the Antiqua Custos for the necklace, but he said it would take a few days."
"We don't have a few days. We only have about 24 hours before they find us." I said sternly, panic rising in my stomach.
"Well, I would wait until Y/N gets here to discuss what we are going to do. She is part of our plan." Namjoon said. "If she made it out safely." He added.
As if on cue, there was a knock on the door. I rushed to the door, opening it slightly so I could see who it was. It was Y/N.
She looked awful. Her cheeks and clothes were smeared with soot, her hair tangled over her shoulders and the smell from her was even worse. There was a light wind flowing into the house from the door and I could smell smoke and burning flesh off of her. She looked at me and sighed in relief.
"I'm here." Her voice sounded scratchy from the smoke and exhaustion. As she spoke, her voice cracked and she leaned over to cough.
I stepped aside quickly, placing a hand on her back as she walked in. I closed the door behind her, locking it in place.
She looked at me as I turned around. The eye contact from her startled me and I looked away. I heard her chuckle softly.
"So, I guess I'm staying here for a while?" She asked and I nodded. Namjoon walked over, his eyes wide.
"Wait, what?" He asked and I looked at him thoughtfully.
"Where else would she stay, Joon?" I asked. "She is safest here."
I had a point and I knew it. Namjoon opened his mouth to protest, but he closed it again when he realized he didn't have a good enough argument.
"Can I shower?" Y/N asked, looking at herself in disgust. Namjoon and I both nodded vigorously. Even Yoongi, who was sitting on the couch listening to the entire thing, exclaimed, "Go, please!"
She rolled her eyes and looked at me making me chuckle a little. She's cute when she's annoyed.
"Care to show me to the bathroom?" She asked. I acted quickly and grabbed her wrist, pulling her upstairs to my room, where one of the bathrooms was.
When we got there, I stopped and looked at her. "This is my room."
She turned around admired everything. "It's cute" She chuckled a little and then sighed.
"Um... I just realized I don't have clothes to change into..." She said hesitantly. I felt my face heat up.
"Oh." I paused, thinking of what she could do.
"Well, you could shower with your... undergarments... on and then I can give you one of my shirts and a pair of pants that don't fit me anymore..." I suggested. She nodded slowly in response.
"Alright..." She said. "I'll go shower now." She went into the bathroom and closed the door behind her.
I started looking through my closet for clothes that she could wear. I found a plain black shirt, and small enough sweatpants that would probably be too big on her, but would be good enough. I waited on my bed for her to finish.
Once the shower turned off, I heard her cursing inside the bathroom. Slowly, the door opened a little, and her head poked out.
"Uh, Taehyung?" She asked, her voice softer after cleaning herself up.
"Hmm?" I hummed in reply and looked at her, her face was bright red.
"I forgot a towel." She said awkwardly.
"Oh." I felt my face heat up again. I quickly went to the laundry room, grabbing a clean towel and bringing it back to her. She grabbed it gratefully and then wrapped it around her, coming out of the bathroom.
I felt the breath rush out of me when I saw her in just the towel. I knew she was still wearing her undergarments, since her bra straps were still on her shoulders, but the sight still made heat radiate from my whole body.
"So you had clothes for me?" She asked, fixing her wet hair that draped over her shoulders.
"Oh-uh yeah." I stuttered, stumbling to the bed. I fumbled with them clumsily and handed them to her. Cursing at myself mentally, she went back into the bathroom and closed the door behind her.
Get a grip, Taehyung. It's just a girl in a towel. She might be a hot girl in a towel, but she's still just a girl in a towel. Very h—no.
I shook my head in annoyance and she came out in regular clothes. A sigh in relief rushed out of me before I could stop it and she looked at me weirdly.
"Thanks for the clothes." She said politely. I nodded and she looked behind me at something, almost like she was longing for it.
I followed her gaze, and realized she was looking at my bed.
"Tired?" I looked back at her and chuckled. Her cheeks were painted light pink in embarrassment.
"My mom said never to embarrass myself by sleeping in another person's bed uninvited, but yes." She looked down shyly.
His heart felt a pang when he remembered that her mother was now dead. He felt sympathy for her and sighed.
"Well you aren't uninvited. If you're tired, then you can sleep in my bed." I smiled and she looked up.
"Really?"
"Yeah, it's the least I could do. You must be exhausted."
"I am." She nodded. She walked to the bed and sat down, sighing in relief. I chuckled at her, causing her to glare at me.
"Shut up." She said as she got under the covers. She closed one of her eyes and looked at me.
"What?" I raised my eyebrows at her.
"Leave." She said, closing her other eye. She seemed to have fallen asleep immediately. In the natural light she looked like a princess, sleeping peacefully and dreaming of good things like a warm home and family and puppies and kittens. How ironic.
It was like my body was drawn to her peaceful presence. Slowly I walked over to her, leaning down and kissing her forehead. Walking to the door, I turned back to look at her. She was smiling calmly in her sleep.
My heart clenched uncontrollably at the sight. Sighing to myself, I walked out and left her to get lost in her dreams.
